my greatgrandmother had hair to her knees when she passed at age 96.  her hair was gorgeous, as was she.

I like long hair on men and women of whatever age they may be, from 5 to 155, it doesn't matter. I love the long hair - and I don't care if it's an "outdated" look either.

i have fine straw that no amount of conditioning will fix.  It is lifeless and unattractive.  i try to grow it long but to my shoulders is all the longer it will go.  i know men in general love long hair and will actually pass by women with short styles in favor of longer locks when given the choice of either/or. 

A lot of people tend to believe that long hair is a natural result of hair care coupled with not cutting more than 1/4 inch at a salon visit.  Hair seeks its own length and i will never have long hair if i live to be 100.  It's not that i wouldn't do nearly anything to have what other women seem to have so naturally, it's just that i'm not genetically equipped to have flowing tresses.

i know i would look more polished and prettier with short hair but i am trying to keep up with the preference of the male gender.  my Master isn't sad that i don't have waist-length hair because it gets in the way with the hood and posture collar and the other things He wants me to wear.  He love me more for what's under the hair.  i am blessed.

i love my long hair.....every summer i swear im going to cut it off, but i never do.  the only time i had short hair in my life was when i was in the army, and it was just easier to deal with.  now i keep it about to where my waist used to be[:o].

sighs......ive had basically the same hair do since about 1974......i just cant imagine it any other way, and neither can anyone who knows me.  ill be one of the crazy old ladies refusing to cut it off i reckon, and im ok with that-lol.

i wish mine would get as long as favesclava.....you have gorgeous hair gal!  and you too tee.

My Master has asked me to keep my hair long (right now it is about half way down my shoulder blades) because He enjoys grabbing it at times.  Other times He is very gentle and brushes it softly from my face.  I'll admit, one of my favorite positions is kneeling with my head resting on His thigh and having him smooth my hair away from my face.

I'd love to have long hair but on me it looks terrible. My hair is super fine and when its long lays in icky lanks unless I constanly curl it or perm it. Plus when I had it down to my butt I had severe headaches and migraines constantly. So short hair is where I'll stay. If it makes me look boyish oh well, they'll notice I'm a girl as soon as they look at my boobs *S* [sm=shake.gif]

I have to ask those with grandmothers with long hair... do they or did they wear it down all the time?  That is what is usually the problem with people for which long hair does not suit them, it drags their face down. I have seen some pics on here (and no, not you subtee), in which the person looks so dang unhappy, and I'm positive it's their softer, older face being dragged down by that long hair.

My own grandmother had long hair, but she always wore it up in a bun.

Yes, GT, that was my point.  [;)]  Saying "my gg had long beautiful hair" is not the same as saying "she wore it down every day and I want to be like her and she did not look old and tired with 50 pounds of hair dragging her sweet face down to the ground"... to paraphrase.

Yes yes I agree. Long hair simply does not look good on certain faces and typically (at least I think so) those faces belong to older women.
A good haircut be it long or short, can do absolute wonders. However it is not always easy to find a good cut.

I know a few women in the mid forties with long hair, they keep it long because it has always been long and because men like it. They look older than their age because it just doesn't suit them. Mine is too long for my face because I can't seem to figure out what else to do lol.
Shorter hair tends to make me look about five pounds lighter too.

My hair is long and silver. I am not a sweet young thing - but i get complements on my hair from other women when i go out with my Sir. I think the length combined with the texture and colour is unusual. It is soft and fine and thick. It is definitely my best feature.

My Sir loves my long hair - and he has been known to tie it to his arsehook to keep me still.[:)] . Very interesting sensation (she said with a straight face)

and i have to say that i went silver very early. I got tired of colouring it very early, and since have gotten senior citizen discounts since age 44. (grins), I never said no.

Long hair does nothing at all for me, I don't find it a turn on or a turn off ... it's just there. Now a cute bob style hair on a face that can carry it off ... oh yum, that does work.

Ok; yep, I am now officially paranoid.

Or maybe not because even paranoid people are right every once in a while...

I *want* to grow my hair longer, (but it doesn't seem to want to)

Then again, I *am* 43.

Then again HM likes it long.

Then again Cali says long hair on women my age is bad.

I am SO confuseded!! (yes, confuseded!)

I understand this may be the truth of your opinion, but it's not a universal truth.

My mother was a professional flamenco dancer until she turned 50, and the only reason she stopped was because of her breast cancer.  Up until then she had beautiful, thick dark hair down to her waist.  She was always an amazingly gorgeous woman.  Now at 74, she has cute bangs and wears her hair down to her shoulders.  She looked horrible in short hair, and we all (her kids) convinced her to grow it a bit.

I think long hair looks great on some people and not on others.  For some people - whatever their age, height, weight, personality, build - long hair drags their faces down.  For some people, short hair makes their faces look big and wide.  In my opinion it's a matter of having the right style for the individual.

My hair goes to just below my shoulder blades.  My Master's rule is that it must hang at least to my shoulders, in a style that suits me.  He likes hair he can grab.  That's his criteria.
