ORIGINAL: Wolf1020 Tats or other markings of ownership can be good though personally I prefer to be discrete about it. So any ownership markings for me would be either in a place that can be hidden or something unassuming. Gorean marking's (No I'm not really Gorean 24/7 but I have read most of the books and RP it) are good for that. The average person isn't going to see what is basically a K, a dina, one of the wagon peoples brands, or any of the other Gorean slave brands (either there as a true brand or just as a tat) and know what it means. So something discrete most people aren't going to know what it mean's or someplace easily covered up for day to day out in the vanilla world life is what someone in my collar might get. Although this post I have quoted if dated 11/23/2005 10:23:05 PM , I feel the point is as relevant today as it was then. As I see it, the smart owner realises that each relationship may not stay the distance and it would for me be distasteful to have my brand/tattoo/mark on a female no longer in service to me (collared to me for those who don't underconstumble). If the ownership mark was in the form of a collar or something removable, this is all well and good, but lets face it folks tattoos and brands tend to have a permanence about them y'know. Taking into account also, the sub/slave, I'm sure will not want a permanent reminder of that period of time especially if things didn't go well and the break up was not along friendly lines. As a Master, I certainly don't need to advertise my failures either. (As a side note, I don't care how well you tried to keep the relationship together, you are the Master or Mistress or Owner and for better or worse the buck stops with you. The relationship fails, you as the owner has failed. Simple as that.). For this reason I do like the keff or similar designs because it can be later modified if the wearer chooses to do so. Along these lines I prefer to design Celtic inspired designs which will mean something for those in the know and will look very attractive and even mysterious to the great unwashed. Frankly, if I want my ownership details such as [slave name] property of Bruin Cottage or [slave name] property of Iron Bear, Master of Bruin Cottage I can have this information engraved on a plate attached to her collar and even have this information on the ID of a microchip implanted in her for emergencies. There are plenty of ways to have your initials wrought into the design without being blatant.
