Secondly, since I really dont care who likes me, who doesnt, and since I never learned how to join a clique, was pretty much happy going my own way in the world, I have actually no clue as to what you are talking about.

I could care less if people meet in real life from here.  If they do, great, hope they had fun, got laid or whatever.  If any of em show up at my place I will probably hand them a shovel and point to an area I am trying to get the cactus out of and tell em to start digging.  (or if I am feeling especially evil, hand them an axe and send em out to cut down mesquite trees)

You see, I freely admit that I am uglier than a hammerhead mustang stud, meaner than a grizzly with a toothache, more short tempered than a rattlesnake haveing a bad day, and I snore.
I growl at children, nuns, priests, preachers, and anything else that seems to be trying to get on my bad side.
And all of the above discribes me on a good day.  You dont want to see me on a bad day.... nor do you want to see me without coffee in my system.

As for the rest of what has been said in this thread, it is all a matter of symantics.  People like a sense of community, it makes em feel better when the wolves are at the door.  Me personally, I prefer to be the one the wolves are afraid of.

Status: offline 		While I don't post much here, the question of "What's the Payoff?" is one I'd like to address. Much of the time I come to the boards purely to enjoy the many different perspectives of the people who post here. Some I agree with, some I don't, and some are pure stupidity (kind of like the OP in this instance). These boards are an outlet for me as a way to relax. The comradery here for the most part is refreshing, and much of the debate, stimulating.
These boards have allowed me to get to know people on a personal level, that without them, I may have never had that opportunity. One of the most opinionated people that posts here, has become a dear friend and I wouldn't trade that for the world. So the OP has the audacity to ask what the payoff is.......the payoff for me is entertainment, information, and reward of friendship.

1.  There are many participating members on this site who provide wonderful insight, and readily share their knowledge.
2.  They back up their experiences with references.
3.  People sharing a love of a part of their life is a positive energy I like to be around.
4.  People sharing their real life joys makes me smile.
5.  Friends talking about their get togethers peels away "online" personas, and shows them as a person. 
6.  There are just some damn funny people that post. I love to laugh, they help me do that.
7.  There are just some damn intelligent people that post. I love to learn, they help me do that.
8.  There are just some damn funny AND intelligent people, they make me want to better myself, like finding ten items for this list.
