I know I don't have much of an interest in munches because I do know there will be no one my age. (18) I'm also afraid it won't be respected that I'm looking for someone under 30, and Imma get hit on by a bunch of creepy old dudes. I know that's very judgemental, but it is my fear and reasoning. Maybe an unreasonable fear and not too good of reasoning.

Maybe that's why there's not more young people around? Same reason as me?

But there are many groups where you have to be 21+ and you've all read my rants on that before. Let's just say that TNG started because someone, I know him but I won't name names, felt it was very unfair that he could attend a meeting but be force to pay more per meeting because he was "too young" to become a member.

This is my first clue on this whole TNG thing. I'm 30, which I guess I'm still young (the TNG i just looked into in my area is 18-35), but dare I say it, I feel old. Most of the people I talk to on a daily basis (mostly due to business) are all older people 45+ and I tend to get along with them better than people my age or especially younger. So now I'm extra confused on which munch to make my first much (oops, totally didn't mean to hijack!)

I'm sure there are plenty of young people who are into it but there are a few things happening I think:
First, they are young and experimenting with their partners but haven't really delvelopled or delved into what it all acutally means. I'm sure guys and girls all over college campuses are tying each other up and spaking each other asses, but they just think its all in good fun, and I'm sure most of it is, but give them a few more relationships and they eventually realize, "Hey, I really liked that, lets find out more out this"

Second, I think when we are younger we are more secretative about our perversions, and aren't mature enough to express our kink feelings. Dare I say it, but people involved in this lifestyle are WAY more mature about sex. These kids now-a-days, shit and even a lot of my friends, are pretty losey goosey about sex. They start early, the are irresponsible about it, and basically just walking boners and wet vaginas. Wereas us in this lifestyle are (i think anyways) more concerned about safety, maturity, etc.

I had the same fear. I went to my first munch last week and I think I probably was the youngest person there. There were probably two people (males) who looked about my age though (out of about 30 people). There were probably half a dozen others in their late 20s or early 30s and the rest were older, most quite a bit older. Nobody mentioned my age and I didn't feel talked down to or excluded. This munch specifically says on their site that it's not a singles club so don't come and hit on the girls, and the organisers are happy to accompany new female subs (well, anyone I suspect, but them in particular) to make sure they're ok. I expect many munches are the same - maybe drop them an email and see?

The section i highlighted in bold is rather a touchy subject for me. Being told that....well....that type of statement usually puts me in a pissed off mood for some reason as i'm one who sees age as nothing more then a number...given of course that the other person involved in the relationship is at least older then 18.

There are plenty of them around and they're the ones who give rise to the "kids know nothing" attitudes I guess. They probably grow up to be whiney knowitalls and eventually become grumpy old farts.

(Thank gawd for the bright intelligent ones though, and there are a fair few of those and they are such good news; even better when they enjoy older people too

I'm 18 and I hang out here all the time! There are tons of youngins if you know where to look. Before I was old enough to join here, I was part of a BDSM forum dedicated to free discussion without explicit sexual language, so many of us were under 18 because it was strictly legal. So many under 18ers are probably on sites like it. When I was old enough I totally joined up here, though.
