All candidates.  For all offices.  In all elections.  In all nations.

This is sad,and more in line with one of Al's post...

Then you've got a lot of catching up to do with berating McCain, his policies, opinions, and those voters who 'believe' in him and his message.

But not nearly as much catching up as others have to do with heaping scorn, derision, disgust, and discontent upon Obama.  When the electorate realizes that Obama's neo-Marxist insanity should be abruptly and categorically rejected, then we can begin to discuss McCain's many flaws.

What 'is' ? Believing in a candidate is 'idolatry'? It looks like you're putting ideas in people's minds without asking them whether they agree or not  .

Try doing a search about Obama blows his nose... the results will surprise you.  I would definitely say there is something other than the typical believing in a candidate going on here.

Just my opinion,
Thadius

I see... one has to prove he's more worthy than the other just because that's what you believe  . It's your complete right to think that, of course.

idolatry, worship, and blind faith

You are trying to pass hyperbole as fact.

People are foaming at the bit to sweep BUSH and his group of cronies out of the White House. This not blind faith, its fucking common sense. McCain --- sad as it is to say --- is fruit of the poisonous tree.

Four Trillion in new debt, endless wars, a failure of the government to do its job on the Environment, Disaster Relief, and mortgage regulation --- your eye is off the ball and your finger is not on the American pulse.

Oh, let's not forget Abu Ghraib, renditions, waterboading, politicization of the justice department, WMD (not), failed war in Afghanistan...........

The Pain, When will it end????????? (Not soon enough.)

No, Cloud, you are simply in denial, or possibly unable to see the point because you are skewered on it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjXyqcx-mYY  This is not a typical part of the modern American political scene.

The entire rest of your post is just a pathetic attempt to change the subject.  I'll be ignoring it.

Better McCain than Obama.  At least McCain has experience at something besides smiling and looking pretty.

What does CNN say about it?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cYTpRXbHB4

How is this behavior not to be called idolatry?  People are calling it a religious experience.

Oh no ... far better Senator Obama.

They are both going to lie, both be self-serving ... neither will get us out of Iraq, and potential events will dictate war with Iran, parish the thought. There will be no gun control that the police will enforce, and healthcare reform, its something I think we need, but that won't happen either. If we pass an open immigration law, the states will overrule it ... if we pass a tighter one, the cops will ignore it just enough to allow local businesses to thrive.

So, why not Senator Obama? Perhaps he will help improve race relations ... and swing the Supreme Court back towards a center that feels more like sanity. Maybe Houston will get some of the massive amounts of pork that will get pencil whipped through Congress.

Your logic, seems illogical to me.

So your first reason to vote for him is that he might help improve race relations?  Seems like a rational reason to me.  The first judges coming up for retirement are liberal judges, so there won't be any change in the structure, perhaps if Kennedy retires... Oh and to your final point, why would he favor Houston, when his staff is going to be yes men for the Chicago machine?  Do you think him having Axelrod is just a coincidence?

Just my opinions,
Thadius

Well, better race relations is a worthy goal ... and in a second term, he could help sway the court, at worst it won't go any further right in the short term ... and there will be so much fucking pork at least some will come our way.

No, he won't.  Aside from the fact that he has no real interest in the concept, the reality is neither he nor any other politician has the wherewithal to do that.

Race relations is a societal question, not a political one.

So you believe that Obama would blow the budget wide open?

Worse than Bush?

Quite true ... and electing a leader of mixed race, would send a reasonably clear message to our society.

I believe Senator Obama would spend more of our money here at home, as opposed to President Bush's plan of spending it rebuilding countries we demolished in the first place.

I have no illusions about the "goodness" of Senator Obama. I'm not a fanatic, and have become imune to the pretty speeches and boyish charm. This has become about the focus of agenda, and what can be reasonably done by the two candidates. I was somewhat on-board with Senator McCain's straight talk express, until it became the straight neo-con express. I'm willing to accept that he took that path, in order to get the nomination ... but he has had it for quite some time, and has chosed to move further in that direction ever since. I'm not afraid of the neo-con agenda, I just feel that it will get nothing done for our nation.

In Senator Obama, I see someone has has a chance to get a very narrow window of things accomplished. In short, I'm making the choice between not enough, and nothing at all.

Not enough, is better than nothing.

I disagree given the history of the Civil Rights Movement; pursuing equality in employment, housing, education, service in the Armed Forces, health care, etc.  Race relations in America are both political and social.

When discrimination was enshrined in law, there was need for political action and political solution.  That need has passed.

I don't want Obama spending more of my money period.  I want government to keep its greedy paws away from my business and from my bank account.
