I bought tons of this beautiful variegated yarn years ago and have finally found a project for it, a large entrelac blanket. Now I'm seeking high and low for perfect, if not pretty darn good, solid colors to match. I want to use all the colors that are in the variegated, but sigh, so far have found only two that I really like. Oh drag, I should have thought of this when I bought the yarn (or maybe I did).
Oh and entrelac is really easy! Is just increasing and decreasing. I think the only two things I had to look up was purling front to back and slip slip knit. http://www.io.com/~cjwyche/Entrelac/Entrelac.html The pattern I'm using is slightly different though.

They're giving away Classic Elite mill cones with a $75 purchase. You could request the seaside colorway, but no promises. I'll let you know what one I get.

From their site:
We're giving away underweight cones of Inca Alpaca, Rayon/Silk Fame and Montera from Classic Elite Yarn. If your order totals $75 or more, you get one free, while supplies last. You must add a Sample Cone to your cart in order to receive one. The size, fiber and color are our choice. We will add a cone at random to your shipment.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/19/2010 7:16:21 AM)

I will try but so far, no response. Betcha the sale is over on the 2nd of September...

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/19/2010 8:11:01 AM)

The Labor Day sale is on Labor Day weekend... and is generally the way to lose the most amount of money in the least amount of time.

See, there are people who GAMBLE. They go to the casinos and toss away perfectly good monies and get little in return. We toss away our monies and get YARN. Which we can use to MAKE STUFF.

Total justification![:)]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/19/2010 1:42:09 PM)

Just got back from Walmart and I did score some bargains.  They have the Bernat Baby Jacquards discounted to $3.  I got 2 each of  I'm a big boy, Boo Berries and Spearmint Candy.

I do need money, so if someone is willing to help out a buxom woman...with several hooks and tons of parteen...[;)]

Damn it, I needa dictionary since I am suffer from short turn memory...

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/20/2010 10:10:11 AM)

Oh wow the LYS is continuing the sidewalk sale... but today I go see if I sold anything at the craft room garage sale and I need to spend monies THERE as a thank you.

What knitting to bring to Florida? Something lace? Honestly, I bring knitting when I travel and never touch a stitch... but I feel "unpacked" without it.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/20/2010 12:44:31 PM)

Mom is a bit mad at me for getting the yarn.  I wish I get a differnce living of living inseace today...that way, I take then entire discounted section...(and Mom bitching about the lack of space).

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/20/2010 1:48:19 PM)

I sold $147 of stuff!!! So I spent $47 on mostly needle felting supplies, since I have been pondering that, with unplied yarn. I have a year to use up the other $100!! I also got a big ball of this lime green pompom yarn because it knitted up cute, the poms are long ovals. I heart ball fringe!!

Buttons were half off at Joann, so a tteeeeeeny binge... but! I needed some as price and size comparisons for Etsy. Justification!!

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/20/2010 3:26:28 PM)

When I go to Austin, I will be hitting Hancocks, Hobby Lobby, Micheals and Jo Anns.  I got my favorite baby jacket pattern and I know I need the baby buttons for them...

I might hit GoodWill for yarn, especially any project toss out when the couple has a breakout...

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (7/20/2010 3:36:29 PM)

oh yea...Mom wants me to make 2 afghans, for my aunts..I will do them after I finish the projects,

I would bring something simple myself, something that I could put down in the middle of a row and pick up after a couple of days.
