th, that looks like a sewing, not an crochet or knitten project.  Maybe a loom...

tropicalhoney -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/13/2010 12:04:35 PM)

I have actually seen a knitted one in a store, but I can't find a picture. I'll keep looking. The one I saw was on sale for $295 - I couldn't believe the price, and it wasn't cashmere or anything!

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/13/2010 12:08:06 PM)

Got 2 books today, "All About Crochet" and *Around the Corner Crochet Borders".  I am in love...[sm=cheering.gif][sm=cheerleader.gif][sm=cute.gif]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/13/2010 12:12:23 PM)

Was it at a Casual Corner?  I used to get my scarves there until they closed their doors.

Check with ebay.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/14/2010 5:15:00 AM)

Don't you just hate when Walmart stop carrying certain yarns, put them on clearance and you have to buy the yarn in either Hobby Lobby, Micheals or worse...EBAY!!!!!

Mom is cussing me out for the one skein I had to get so I can finish up on the butterflies afghan. It is not my fault that the[sm=banghead.gif] store has the clearance sale...

I did get a whole lot of different ombre yarns that will keep me occioped(?) for quite a while.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/14/2010 9:00:51 AM)

Yay Miss Honey!!

Knitpicks.com has a bunch of free scarf patterns, you might want to check there.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/14/2010 12:21:44 PM)

OMG...we can now see the closet floor...all the granny squares went to the left and floor and the English lilac went the rest of the floor.  The baby ombre was pushed to the back.  The ladybug, penguin and the rescued yarn went to the right.  MJ's afghan is on a bookshelf , watching me while I sleep...the bamboo yarn is with the thread, hiding for the moment.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/14/2010 8:25:38 PM)

Okay BE PROUD everybodies!!!!

I have put all the knitting and beading patterns into page protectors and they are sorted into binders!! No more some are put away some are not!! They are categorized and everything!~ Some got tossed, and a few are in the meh pile, but by and large, I did well.

STORING those binders, you say? Well, we'll drive off that bridge when we get to it. For now, we're just going to be all happy, and hand-wind some nice alpaca yarn. [:)]

fluffypet61 -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/14/2010 8:30:51 PM)

Yay, Hibbie!

i'm working on the first of three hoodies for the youngest grands.  Small problem...i have an extra stitch.  i counted it twice at 104 but now i have 105.  So it goes in the center back.

Progress is good.  i am up to the armpits and now have to put the left front and the back on stitch holders while i do the right front.

fluffypet61 -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/14/2010 9:51:24 PM)

th, is this the scarf?

There is one called potato chip scarf from knitpicks, it looks a lot like that.

tropicalhoney -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/15/2010 6:38:13 AM)

flurry, that is much what I seek. Do you know where there is a pattern?

I can't find that pattern or anything by that name. I have looked at all the pics of scarves and of shawls and also searched potato chip.

fluffypet61 -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/15/2010 8:51:31 AM)

The scarf in the picture is at LionBrand.com.

(The pattern is free, but you may have to get a free account and log on to see the pattern.)

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/15/2010 12:57:14 PM)

I got quite a few patterns from Lion because of my access.  I make Mom look at the Lola comics when they get on there.

I am so evil....until I walked the living room floor...then I call my niece a little imp in training.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/17/2010 4:13:27 PM)

Okay...who took my measuring tape?  It was on the computer desk last time I checked...

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/17/2010 4:55:32 PM)

Alpaca short sleeved cardi is next, and the alpaca mitts. I need quick knits!

fluffypet61 -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/17/2010 9:14:23 PM)

What color Alpaca?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/18/2010 10:20:11 AM)

One mitt DONE! I prolly could have gotten them both done if not for breaks to cruise the interwebs on my phone!

This is "Charmed" alpaca by Cherry Tree Hill, the mitts are in colorway JAVA, which on the alpaca took as umber and slate, and the batch for the cardi is Winterberry, which is fuchsias and purples. There is a glittery nylon binder thread for subtle sparkle. It was on SUPER sale, so how could I resist?

I SHOULD have, of course. As usual, I will be penniless but well clad. [&o]
