ACR!!!  I was too late.

The money is for some groceries anyway.

But then I will buy the yarn on the 3rd, after the doctors' visit.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (8/28/2010 6:15:00 PM)

I got a consignment...I GOT A CONSIGNMENT!!!

She saw the first panel of the butterflies  (filet crochet *my favorite pattern*)

She wants me to crochet an afghan with the Peace sign on it.

I expect her to call me later on tonight .  I am thinking to doing the peace sign as silver with the background as ombre, either that or have the main color in silver and the background as ombre.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (8/30/2010 7:21:39 AM)

WWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

The lady who wants me to 'stitch' the afghan of the peace sign is willing to have me do the work as long as its before Christmas. We discussed the colors and I showed her the wide range I can order from.

I just need to find a 2-ply color that is in wild colors.

i love this town in NJ where Master lives!  There is an old fashioned yarn shop only 4 blocks away (i can walk there).  i bought some yarn and a set of needles.  Then she showed me how to cast on another way and how to do a stitch i couldn't figure out.  She let me sit there and work on a sample piece while she watched.  YAY for yarn shop ladies!

Sounds supercool, Fluffy!! When are you moving?

fluffypet61 -> RE: Needles and Hooks (8/31/2010 6:20:09 AM)

Maybe in a couple of months.  It's up to Master.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (8/31/2010 10:38:09 AM)

That is so cool...being with your Master close by

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (8/31/2010 10:38:54 AM)

I am noticing how many of my pals live in New Jersey! This could be meaningful!! [:D]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (8/31/2010 11:27:21 AM)

I am still stunk in Texas...no Master to bother me...

Maybe that is a good thing since I am bossy at times.

*laughing from both sides from being a switch*

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/3/2010 3:38:18 AM)

We finally decided to go it as a twin/full bed.  I am going to do it in the granny squares.  I saw one online of the afghan that will work ...

Now...to get the yarn this afternoon since I have some kind of test to do this morning.  Any yarn left over I get to use for any project.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/4/2010 10:55:11 AM)

Why is it that when you see cool "scraps" projects that you do not have ANY of the scraps needed??

I went through my project bags. I am a yarn addict. Did I admit that already? Purely, purely sad. I think I will do the alpaca short sleeved cardi next.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/4/2010 11:23:12 AM)

if there is scraps left over, I got a "scrap" granny square that is looking like someone is making it as they are going along.  It is definity crazy...

tropicalhoney -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/4/2010 12:36:51 PM)

My mother was making a needlepoint for my sister when she passed. I would finish it, but it is so old that I cannot find more of some colors that are needed as the brand is no longer producing the needlepoint wool. Other than taking the parts she did out, is there anything I can do. One part in particular is framing the whole thing, so I can't see that I can just use a different color there. I am struggling as I would really like to do this for my sister as she is quite depressed about the death of our 93 yo mom.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/4/2010 12:43:35 PM)

I would try color blending, Miss Honey. A friend of mine has whole CARPETS she and her mom were doing, and the same issue with not finding the new colors. Take strands of similar colors, mix them, rip out small sections if you have to. From far away, see how they blend. Try twisting the colors and hanging them up taped to a piece of white paper, to see.

tropicalhoney -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/4/2010 2:47:50 PM)

Thanks for the great hint from the excellent colourist. I will try that as I would really like to finish the piece.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/5/2010 2:25:26 PM)

I would had the butterfly afghan done if people would leave me the fuck alone.  I got the 2 afghans for my aunts, finishing up the ladybug afghan, still working on the penguin, fix up the nephew's afghan (all shades of blue).  Georgie the blind cocker decides that he can lay down on my feet...sorry for having a rolling chair, sugar.

I need a winecooler and a foot massage..

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/5/2010 4:14:18 PM)

Still sewing freakin granny squares. I hope to be done this weekend.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/6/2010 2:34:01 AM)

I should be done with the butterfly today before my brother and his kiddos come in.
Yes, I know that I am crocheting at 4:30 in the morning CST.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/6/2010 8:14:36 AM)

Remind me to NEVER crochet at 4:30 in the morning...

FUBAR time...

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (9/7/2010 11:40:56 AM)

okay...I am about to work on Aunt B's afghan...except...they did not have a color guide to work with it.  I had to print up a copy of the afghan so I can use that as a color guide.

Then comes more news...it is a motif style..I have never done motifs before.  guess I have to live and learn.*mutteringIwishthattheymentionthatinthepatternsalemuttering*
