This being the internet and people being what they are I often see a great number of gramatical mistakes that make me wince. But this isn't about those people, oh no. This is all about me Me ME!!!

Personally I have this habit of reuising the same word multiple times in the same sentence. Or reusing similar sentence constructs. Repeating, and things like that. About half the time I catch myself at it, and the rest of the time I simply groan and get on with life. Yet it's a niggling little detail that drives me crazy for no good reason. Stupid perfectionist!

So anyone else have a niggling habit like that?

No, but I do have this nagging little thought that you resemble My ex-husband quite a bit.

It's ok.  I promise not to hold it against you.

i have a terrible habit of using the $6 word instead of the one that everyone else understands...sometimes it's because i simply don't have another word in my head that means the same...i read a LOT, so i tend to think in those words...& i also get twitchy when people leave typos or misspellings & have such odd grammar that i have difficulty deciphering what they're trying to convey...it's all i can do not to switch to red & correct them...LOL...speaking of perfectionists.....

Golly I can't think of a single grammatical annoyance that afflicts me  but I smacked my ex-husband a couple of hours ago for pronouncing 'asphalt' as if it were 'ashhhh-fault' for the billionth time.

Heehee, oh that's a completely different ball of wax camille. Now and then I mispronounce words just to annoy people. Other times I seem to have adopted the say it how it sounds method, which has nothing to do with what the word really sounds like.

And Rain dear, methinks you're running a bit behind today. Don't try to blame this on the universe.. err, forum posts shifting around you. It won't work!

I am the queen of run-on sentences, but I know that and have accepted it. Isn't that the first step?

I have no confidence when it comes to grammer or spelling, even when it comes to a short sentence like this (or should I make it two sentences? argh) I am constantly editing and correcting myself. My thesaurus never leaves my side.

It's not my fault. I think. It had something to do with the magical CM gods and timing.

Now excuse me, but don't you have a TARDIS to catch? And don't forget your towel.

I abuse the heck out of dictionary.com, or similar sites. Not that my spelling is bad, but I mean come on. If you have access to this sort of stuff why not double check?

... on second thought I really don't want to know if there's a grammernazifordummies.com site out there. Nope!

I usually have confidence in my spelling but where I have problems is that I went to school in Australia and lived in America. When I first got to Australia, the teachers used to mark me down for spelling (because I used American English) and then when I moved back to the States, I was marked down for spelling because I used Australian (or British) English. I couldn't win. Now, my spelling is a mish-mash.

Grammar? Ye gods, that's a whole other story...

Personally  I have this habit of picking of people who pat themselves on the back about how smart they are, but can't use spellcheck.See below.            v

Personally I have this habit of reuising the same word multiple times in the same sentence.

i'm not a perfect linguist . i'm not a pro at grammar. i do have a  sense of humor about my foibles.

I second guess myself all the time. When I am writing or speaking I will use a word then wonder if I used it correctly or I will wonder if I spelled something correctly. Often it may be very simple words that will look incorrect to me when they are fine. Go figure? This is after I majored in Technical Writing and at the time I was the go to person when it came to spelling or grammer. Twelve years later and I don't know my its from my it's.
