raveonette,

I'm with you on that... there have been plenty of really crappy movies I have sat through, with friends, and we get a sense that this stinkburger is pure MST3K fodder, and we start to rip on it. Sometimes, people have told us to shush... but more often, we end up hearing catcalls from behind us.

But this is only for the worst of the worst... and the theatre has to be near empty. (It happens often enough toward the end of a first run... and all the time at $1 flicks.

I rarely go out to movies without having a good idea of what I'm in for, so no walk outs there.... I've seen more than a few at friend's houses that I would have demanded my money back for... Moulin Rouge comes to mind.  Walked out on some very bad theater in the park once.   Walked out on a few music performances...Life is definitely is too short for bad entertainment.

Escape From New York rules.  I'm hard pressed to think of any John Carpenter movie that sucks.

to each their own.  i adored john carpenter's "vampires" (the first one) but normally i'm *not* up on any sort of scary movie.

I walked out of Quills http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0180073/

I had high expectations that a film about the Marquis de Sade would be fascinating, but it was just tedious and depressing.

Oh that is one my most favorite romantic movie of all times. I love the forbidden passion between her and the priest.

That movie is amazing. It was so brutal and hard for me to watch, I had to see it in two parts. One part one day, and then I finished it the next day. It was one of those brilliant movies that I never want to see again. Did you happen to see his other movie Breaking The Waves? I believe that's what it's called, it's pretty brutal too but not as bad as Dancer in the Dark.
