Status: offline 		I am just me.  Half a century old and still alive.  I have played with strangers, gone off for weekends, had a bit of fun, and had some of the nicest long term relationships with men that remain in my life.  And always with the knowlege that I make my choices and accept responsibility for them.  I don't see it as being uber anything.  I see it as just living my life.  I am no ones role model.  I dont seek to be anyones mentor.  I am not the sort of person to follow someone elses guidelines for living, unless they mean something to me.
And this is where I find confusion.  I don't understand the need to look at someones words and take them as gospel.  It is a foreign concept for me that anyone would look at what I write and accept it without researching whether it would work for them.  I am a researcher by trade, and a researcher for life.
As for putting things out on these pages.. well.. isnt that what these pages are for?  For sharing ideas, thoughts, questions, proposals, experience, and lack there-of.  If someone new comes into this and sees extremity, or incompatibility, and they run.. maybe they should look closely at what it is they want.  Sure it might make them step back for a while, but is hesitation such a bad thing when you are taking the step to or away from control?

Ideally I would like to see uber-self examination.

Instead of quietly just doing what you do...and being who you are...you need the whole world to know. You need to use derogatory, demeaning and condescending words to make everyone else know how much better you are, how much more extreme, how much more "real".

The cock strutting and grandstanding is comical to watch. It's quite a grand show. Unfortunately though there is a sad aspect to it too. Some people come here looking for information and answers. I'm sure that a lot of them see the show and walk away thinking they just don't make the cut.

i meet more "ubers" in real time than on the boards...okay, thats prolly not true, but the ubers i meet R/T, who can either interfere with my headspace when im about to scene, or make me throw up a bit in the back of my throat while trying to chew dried chicken at a munch, are the ones who affect me more than anyone on the boards. And honestly, they dont affect me for long.
If everyone could just be happy where they are at in life, this wouldnt even be a thread. Now we all know thats not going to happen. i tend to smile and deflect. i avoid confrontations with the "ubers" and play on through. This is my journey. In the end, whether im in a relationship with someone that im happy with or not, reviewing the highlights of said journey is ultimately up to me and what i do and how i do it are only really my actions to judge; my consequences to face.
i have always kind of freaked people out in general, no matter what aspect of life is being discussed. i work passionately, i play passionately and hard. This disturbs some and intrigues others...the intrigue, baby, thats where its at.

As for the boards, i have been here reading and have seen some very judgemental folks who try to shut down others who are simply asking a question or looking for some validation from outside their own circle of reality. Seeking validation is not a negative action. Attention-whoring is not something i consider positive, but asking questions and seeking others input is defiinitely a positive thing.
i have also seen some senior members really open up and share their experience with anyone who wishes to be open to listening.
Its the last who make me glad to be a part of this community and breathe a bit easier knowing that, along the path i have chosen, i might have a distant guide.

Status: offline 		Personally, I have a dart board that's all nicely labeled according to the type of post I should make.   I take a sip of coffee, throw a dart.  If it's in the Uber Target zone so be it. 

I've been debating about ripping a Crazy 8 Ball apart and making modification to it.  Actually, wait... That Damn Crazy 8 Ball has given me some better advice compared to 1/2 the postings on here.

Oh crap, are real true uber Doms allowed to use Crazy 8 Balls and throw darts to make decisions?   I mean these things are acceptable Dom decision making tools right?

Personally, I get a lot of Great Ideas from watching SOAP Opera's on TV, now there are some really great Example of Uber Dom's in action.  Evil cunning wicked bastards manipulating and controling everybody and every thing around them.

Hey, I've been thinking lately about a Career change and selling beach property in the middle of the dessert.   I heard you can make a killing at it.   In just a few tiny classified Ads, you can make a killing just like Dom Lapre, or is that Don Lapre.  You know that a guy that talks with his hands and is on the late night TV infomercial,  he must be legit because he's selling "get rich" opportunities for so many years now.

Anybody up for playing a Game of Uber Monopoly?  Man, I can't believe how different limited collector's editions there of that game.  I have a whole room full of them now.  Just a perk of booty from sub/slave tribute I've been amassing over the years.

I hope some poor bastard does not read this post and take it literally.   This all is just a lot of made up bullshit, that I'm fabricating for the hell of it.    Mind you, it does in many ways mirror some of the more so-called serious posts on the message boards.   One just can't simply believe and take everything posted so serious at times.   There are crazy people, posting some crazy things on here.   I'm suprised nobody is bragging about how they wave a plastic sword around in the Air while Yelling out "I am He-Man Master of the Universe", now that would be pretty Uber if you ask me.

Supposedly A/all here are of legal age, after digitally attesting and affirming that they were over 18 years of age to join the site, and as an almost universal trait that is called for in profiles is honesty, there is no reason to question their ability to provide informed consent.

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of O/our hosts, everyone is granted the ability to exercise the rights granted under the first amendment to the constitution of the United States. Free speech however is of necessity a two edge sword. Dissenting opinion on any issue is not only valid but necessary for informed consent.

For they whom would follow blindly to bask in the shadow of those perceived to vicariously grant unearned status, without first investigating and making an informed decision to do so, Darwin had a valid point.

In order to make the world a better place for the next generation, those whom do not wish to contribute to the gene pool, need not do so.

Of course, this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Status: offline 		It is words like "just" something implying it is less than, or "only" implying it stops before some other, supposedly better thing.  As in you are "just" a top who "only" does x,y, and z.

Those of course are the more obvious examples.  Much of it is more subtle.  Doms talking about how dangerous things are out there and how safe they try and be are playing the same game although more subtly.  In general when they talk about OTHERS they are on treading on the path to UBER...

I looked at a pussy hook this last weekend and almost bought it, but there are women for whom that would be an entertaining pastime and others for whom it would be a nightmare, same can be said of a blindfold, a growl in the dark, etc.  One persons fluffy can be anothers intense fear.

Same goes for relationships, being shared is a common thing for some, a limit for others and one isn't "better" or "worse" on its face.

As always, it isn't the act but the motive behind it.  And part of me LOVEs being a fluffy dom but there is part of me that loves the thought of hoisting her cunt by a hook although just staring into her eyes as I kiss her softly on the lips has its charms as well.

Status: offline 		For those who wonder about the irritation at "uberness" it is because it kills real debate and discussion.  This is the ONLY place I post deep revealing stuff about myself because while I know nobody is going to coddle me, I also don't have to put up with dipshits yelling "pussy" or "real doms don't do that" sort of crap.

In short, MY honesty is met with OTHERS honesty...and I LOVE that!!!!

Status: offline 		I have to say that unless they are obviously joking or being sarcastic, I rarely see anyone claim to be "uber" anything.  I do see quite a little bit of "Hey, look at how extreme I am! 'phhbbbtttt!!' I don't care what you think!"  But that does not strike me as being the same thing at all.  I wonder how many people see posts like that, though, and think "That poster is trying to claim superiority because they are more extreme... "  Then if the reader is not extreme in the same way, perhaps, or simply never sees a need to go that route, they get defensive about the percieved elitism and post a sort of counter-attack.  "Just because I don't (whatever) does not mean you are better than me."  Or something along those lines.  OR if the reader feels they are equally extreme, they feel a need to inform the poster "Hey, I am extreme too, buddy, so just back off!"  Then of course there are the safety conscious posts, where people try to either inform out of a need to be, 'helpful'  or perhaps some fear that if said person's actions come to the public eye because their extremeness put them in the pages of the Darwin Awards and gave all people into WIITWD a bad name by association (this is a common excuse, I think, for making safety oriented posts - though I am sure that many people read this as an "I am more experienced/skilled/intelligent because I play more carefully" post, which of course pisses them off... ).

There is some competiton here, that much is clear, but I really think most of this is simply mis-reading one another's intentions in their posts.  If you go looking for material to be offended by in the posts of others, you will find it.  Is this an issue of insecurity about one's own 'level' of play or one's value or skills ore whatever?  It may simply be that being contrary to someone elses post is just an excuse to talk about yourself.  Whatever.

I make not claim to not doing it also.  I know I do.  Am I insecure?  Naw.. I just need a jumping off point so I can tout my own virtues.  Let's not forget here that in addition to learning, a lot of people are on CM to attract others.  Self-promotion is a part of the game.  The "strong silent type" method is really great for R/T interactions, but online if you never wave your freak flag around a little how is anyone going to notice you?.

Personally, I don't believe it is a particularly new thang.  Uberxperience prevails and has prevailed for way beyond the last few months.  I do believe that like breeds like - or at least encourages it.  I don;t personally have an issue with it.  I believe it is often more frustration than anything.
 
For example - using thread that are already airing - we have one about whether a sadist can change it's spots.  Now, can you not see for a moment how a heavy masochist who hasn;t had the chance to meet a sadist yet, feel a bit sour because a non masochist is potentially emptying an already deep and unfilled pool?
 
You have my post (yeah - it's all about 'us')- which granted can come across a bit one true way and yummy and .ohmygodarentheythemostsickingcoupleEVER. - telling someone 'how all this shit I have learnt about safe calls, using protection, playing it safe is now wrong'??????
 
You have DVs post on .fuckyouandyourlittledogtoo. which some people took so to heart that they actually feel undermined.  It's not about that.  It's ethics run much deeper than that.  At least it does the way I interpreted it.
 
You have a safewording thread that basically went in circles with a couple of people who were actually agreeing, but in different ways around to the same thing - but just not realising it until the end.
 
And recently in a couple of threads, the 'DM debate'.  Are they useful or not?  Hmmmm... maybe that is worth another thread in it'sown right.
 
These boards are meant to share and discuss.  It's a great place to seek advice, it's an even greater place to see people be open about their way of going about things.  I don't believe anyone is trying to make someone feel less or undermine their choices, maybe the way it's put isn't always easy to understand - and sometimes ego does raise it's yummy head (yeah, I am drooling coz you gotta love a big ego) but I believe people have a big responsibility not to take things so personally and not to attatch personal involvement onto it either.
 
Either way, I am ubercool and there aint nuffin that can be done to make that untrue.  At least in the eyes of my ego.
