No, I don't pay taxes, obey traffic signals only when they make sense, haven't gone through an airport since the TSA pigs were installed, and Social Security is the greatest Ponzi scheme ever invented, so I have a 401k in case I don't die in the saddle. Thanks, though.

You don't pay taxes? I find this really hard to believe. Are you saying you don't buy anything except food with is tax exempt? You have no legal income? You live somewhere rent free? Just how are you avoiding taxes?

This makes no sense, if you have an employer, you're paying taxes.  I take it you don't eat, don't use the phone, don't have a driv lic, don't have cable, don't have elec, no gas in your home

Cause if you did you would be paying taxes.

And yea, I'm a Vet, and don't through me in with your crowd of selfish people inthe Mil.  If it's why you served fine, but don't include everyone who ever served.

No it doesn't make sense, but it's coming from someone who thinks he can avoid paying tax by using deisel gas - "It's pretty easy to avoid the fuel tax if you drive diesel"

I also have to wonder what he thinks all those numbers mean on his pay stub. At first I assumed he was working under the table, but he claims he has a 401K and I have never heard of a company that offered both options before.

Yea, it seems his time in service affected him more than he thinks.  Oh well, to bad he does not pay taxes, then the Vet hospitals would have more room and Dr's to help him through this time

First, having an employer doesn't mean I pay taxes, but thanks for assuming I allow withholding on my check. Check out the untaxation movement, before telling me that I don't make sense. I'm not taking the time to educate someone who dismisses out of hand what they simply don't grasp.

Utilities are included in my rent, so I don't pay taxes there, at least directly. As for the diesel, number two heating oil and biodiesel serve me well.

I'm not putting words in anyones mouth, Thadius, I'm just stating my experience- I spent four years in line units in one of the Armys 'premier' units (101st Airborne).

And everyone, thanks for the implication that I'm crazy and/or selfish, because I want to keep what I earn, and I don't want to be ordered around by anyone. I find anyone who thinks they have the right to my money, very selfish. :-)

This country was founded on a revolt over a tax on tea. I dare any of you to find that courage in yourselves next time the IRS decides it wants another ten percent of your earnings. A serf with the weekends off is not 2/7ths free.

I just find it amusing that someone who actually holds to what the Founding Fathers espoused is met with so much resistance and incredulity.

Give freedom a chance, gentlemen.

My understanding is that the federal income tax was begun  to fund world war one?

And was supposed to be a temporary measure?

Is this correct?

My advice would be to increase your 401k contribution.  You're going to have some hefty fines to take care of down the road.

This is an interesting worldview though.  How do you figure you are sovereign without even owning the door you will someday be told to walk out, with your hands above your head?  If your money goes to the tax collector anyway, is the symbolism worth paying thousands to an intermediary landlord, instead of hundreds directly?  Do you register your vehicle?
