Madame4a -> Misogyny? (8/26/2008 2:25:09 PM)

Why do I notice this in male subs?  Is this your experience?

Where does it come from?

Its scary when I see it -- displayed here in the forums and its often clear in email I receive.

Why do male subs think I'm going to find OVERT misogyny appealing?

By the way, if you don't know what it means, look it up.

Its bugging the crap out of me today with some of the recent posts I've read.

If you're feeling that way, you likely don't belong in a situation where you are seeking a woman to have power over you, got it?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 2:28:12 PM)

Maybe misogyny is an explanation for the bizarre spate of emails I have been getting this week.  Why would a person think that an array of critical you-are-fake-because comments would be attractive?  Why would they PERSIST in writing?

There are a few prizes on the boards who we should just be ignoring, but there are SO many more on the other side, I just have to wonder what the real agenda is.

male sub?? okay..im safe :)

Pyrrsefanie -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 2:36:12 PM)

I regularly get emails consisting of the following:

"LOL you're a Republican you suck"
"HAHAHAHA U R PALE"
"You're hot, too bad your fake like the rest of them"

Not all of them necessarily rooted in misogyny but I honestly wonder if they troll their male counterparts' profiles offering up the same advice.  The best misogynistic one I got was when I politely informed a gentleman that my sub was also my husband and therefore would not be interested in taking him on as my slave, and he fired off a nasty email telling me that I was a stupid little girl and I didn't need some beta-male chump and that I'd realize someday I wanted a REAL man.  [8|]  I think I wrote back and told him to go die of testicular cancer but I can't remember my exact wording.

I think it's the same thing they used to tell us in elementary school -- the boys only make fun of you because they like you.  They're probably just pissy little internet nerds trolling from their mothers' basement who are angry because their last "girlfriend" popped when their neckbeard bristles rubbed the wrong way against the seaming.  They see an attractive woman, instantly feel ANGER RAGE RAWR and have to take it out on some innocent woman who's never even spoken to them before.  Some seem to have rejection issues, i.e. they're all sweet and sugar till you tell them "no" and then the beast flares up.

Some people might think from the tone of this post that I hate men.  I don't.  I just hate shitheads.

Not me, I hate men.  They should all die.[>:]

As a male sub, I'm honestly quite surprised and a little bit disheartened by this. My guess is what you are seeing is just bitterness stemming from the fact that at the end of the day, the demographics are against male subs having much success here- the bottom line is that we badly outnumber you.

It's basically people trying to boost their fragile egos by putting someone else down behind the anonymity of the internet after things don't go their way. The only consolation is that it's hardly just here, and it's not always just men. That's why I prefer good old equal-opportunity misanthropy. :)

An acquaintance of mine here posts the most venomous/grammatically disastrous/generally clueless emails she gets to a "stupid/funny letters" section in her journal. It's a clever little piece of revenge, but it's sad to hear that the problem is so widespread.

Gulps!.....Now that is really intense and pretty specific.  ALL means no exceptions..A planet of just woman...God, what I would give to be the "last man standing"....  :)

Anyway, with respect to the question, from a subbies point of view, many of the guys here don't seem to really
understand the D/s lifestyle, equate "woman on top" as him submissive, or are just trolling the net for fun and perversion.  That also goes for the big percentage of men masked as woman here and on most other venues like
Activewords or Second Life.  I think a true subbie/slave being misogynistic is an oxymoron...and impossible to comprehend...at least from my end of the leash.

UmbraDomina -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 2:53:46 PM)

men are just like any other pet, they need to be trained how to act, kept in cages when they make messes on the floor, and led on a leash. Most men come partly trained, thanks to their mothers, some mothers failed to teach them basic manners, how to eat at a table, and put down the potty seat, unfortunatly these failing males are the ones who email stupid stuff to all of us.

MizSexyVixen -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 3:05:03 PM)

My experience has been this is a response to past or perceived (or perhaps not yet realized) rejection.

I am sure it is difficult being a male sub being the stats are so against you, but since 80% of the responses I get are so incredibly lame, it's not an impossible statistic to overcome.

It takes research, effort, work. In the end, it's a statistical problem. Deal with that end of it, and you can be successful. If you can't handle a simple statistical problem, how good will you be solving other problems?

Why is it that so many women on this site have such a deep-seated hatred of men? I've been on this site for years, and now I hardly read this board because there is always some man-bashing comment somewhere. I don't know the OP at all, but most of the people I see who constantly complain about sexism are the same ones who bash men left and right, posting how we are nothing more than inferior pigs. I am not saying the OP feels this way because I do not know her, this is mostly directed to the post above me. And I know I will be called every name in the book for this post, but this is just my opinion.

This is mostly directed to post #10, since someone else posted when I was typing this.

The misandry forum is down the hall. :)

Obviously, you see a fair amount of writing here brutally talking down to men. I believe much of this is based on the idea that some male subs like that kind of language, although I freely admit there are probably an irreducible minority here who honestly hold all men in contempt.

For my part, though, I have never received either an unsolicited email or a response to an inquiry that was anything other than rational, thoughtful, and polite. It sounds like a number of the women here are not so fortunate in that. There's a difference between reading vicious forum posts and having stupid and crude messages waiting in your inbox. I think in that regard, men get the better end of things here.

[:D]  See how fun it is?

I don't want them all to DIE, then who would I fuck?

Lashra -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 3:39:29 PM)

I haven't noticed this from male subs specifically. I have seen it in some Dom males and some fem subs, usually the later. If you look at most cultures women are tossed into the second class, just barely human category so it is a wonder that some people were brought up to believe this rubbish? It is bad enough to be raised in a misogynist environment what is even more disturbing is believing the rubbish due to lack of critical thinking skills. Of course the powers that be don't want people to question authority or tradition, do they?

First things first:-

Misogyny: a hatred of women http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/misogyny

The peculiar thing about misogynist societies is they often place women on an impossible pedestal. As a result women are given a standard by which they can never measure up. Victorian society is an example, where the ideal never even came close to matching the reality. Iran today is another example ( possibly ). So the male sub has already placed the domme on that pedestal ( most likely ) and thus will be disappointed at some stage. Then he reacts, often spitefully. I would call it an occupational hazard.

Madame4a -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 4:03:04 PM)

when I did a check on it, online and my real live paper dictionary, it included "fear or .. hatred" in the definition

If it's the same journal I read the other day, it's fucking hilarious.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Misogyny? (8/26/2008 4:04:31 PM)

The thing is, the men that are writing to me are STARTING from  a position of spite!  "Three years and you haven't found anyone?  NO wonder!".  That sort of thing.  What can their motivation be?  I really find blocking people to be easier than trying to remember their names so I can delete their snark unread.
