ORIGINAL: subtee ~FR Is it wise and good judgment to choose the Vice Presidential candidate and possible President after 1 or 2 meetings? Things only work that way on The West Wing... [;)] In this election, McCain and Obama are both being handled by teams, and whether they did a good job vetting her or not, somewhere along the line, the 'choice' was made by committee. So if you were to align your future and your (lifetime?) goal and ambition to a person who could potentially make or break it for you, and with whom you would need to work for at least the next 4 years, you wouldn't need to really know that person? You would leave it to committee? No, not quite. I would give the vetting committee a list of names and have them do their jobs. When the time came, I would choose the most qualified candidate from among those who passed the vetting process. I am confident that this is exactly how McCain chose Palin as his running mate.
