Aynne, if we can't vote based on god's gay guns, what are we supposed to vote on?
ROFLMAO..good to see you IK,you sort of took all the air out of that bullshit!

servantheart -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 6:54:19 PM)

I hope it is.

As to free speech, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  My opinion is that one should not sit around complaining about something they're not working to correct.  It serves no purpose.  I call it laziness.  I have not seen any list of actions she is taking in order to make a difference.

Alumbrado -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 6:55:51 PM)

Ahhh, but absence of evidence, isn't always evidence of absence.

You are correct.

It would just be so nice to see a list of potential solutions to go along with the list of complaints.  All I have to go on is what I see in public here, so that is why I replied the way I did.

kittinSol -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 7:52:53 PM)

So far, it's you that's been doing most of the complaining. You should quit when you're ahead [;)] .

As for the nature of your complaint... I think it's a great illustration of what I was saying about the level of the current political debate: damned low.

celticlord2112 -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 7:54:12 PM)

What solutions do you have to offer?

slvemike4u -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:07:51 PM)

So one must have solutions in hand before pointing out the problem.Hmmmm I thought citizenship was the criteria a few short post's ago.....

MzMia -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:17:03 PM)

I was born in this country.
My ancestors helped BUILD this country.

There are many times I do not agree with kittin.
But she has a right to be here and she has a right to state how she feels.

Think about this in a different light.
I am not a citizen of France, I have never even been to France.
But I have opinions on the politics that go on in France, England, Italy,
China, Russia, Iraq, Africa and Mexico and many, many, more countries.

Do you have to really be a citizen of a country to have an opinion and speak your mind on
the forums?
If that is the case, then let's change the "rules" so that people can only talk about countries in which they are a citizen of!
That will shut down the majority of the topics on here.

I believe in free speech {except hate speech}, whether or not I agree with what is being said.

kittinSol -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:17:54 PM)

For a start, stop the nonsensical debate: help clean up. Let's eradicate the dirty campaigning, the rumour mongering, the lies, the phantom menaces and puppets which are shaken in front of voters' mesmerised eyes. Then you might start having intelligent, informed discussions. Instead, you participate in this battle of smoke and mirrors and get engulfed in a self-perpetuating circle of BS.

What do you have to contribute, except GOP propaganda? You are part of the problem, and your desire to score points in an argument is reflected on a larger scale by the political parties, much to the detriment of constructive, informed democracy. Divide and conquer, remember? Well, you learnt your lesson well.

Having the last word is something you probably learnt to covet in the high school debating team: take it, for what it's worth. It has no value to me, and you will continue arguing ad infinitum, oblivious to anybody that disagrees with you, and trying to censor them with personal intimidation tactics: it's desperate,  I won't fall for it, and it looks like others didn't, either.

PS: Mia, you rock.

Something as serious as this is not something to joke about, they aren't even finished rebuilding and if it moves more westerly the northeast side of Gustav could cause more damage then if they were hit head on.

Not a joking matter at all.  I have friends who's families lost everything in Katrina. I remember driving through Louisiana and Mississippi nearly a year afterward; you could STILL see the damage that had been done.

Thankfully, at this point, Gustav is not shaping up to be another Katrina, and hopefully it will stay that way, but anyone who can laugh at a hurricane needs to experience one first hand.

Some things are just not funny.

Agreed.

Aynne88 -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:22:03 PM)

Whomp!!!!! [:D]  Kicking ass and taking names!

MzMia -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:22:39 PM)

ahhhh kitten, you rock!
[:D]

I will also add that many politicians in Many countries have their heads
so far in the toilet, that many are probably sleeping in the bathrooms.
Many politicians are despicable.

LOL

I think that people have been saying THAT since Peyton Randolph was President.

igor2003 -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:46:04 PM)

I didn't come across this thread until it was already pages long, so I hope it is okay to post back to the OP.

The first thing I did was to play the film to see what it said.  I listened to it a couple of times and though it was hard to hear the voices above the whine of the airplane engines I thought I had a pretty good idea about what had been said, so I proceeded to read through the posts.  Once I had read through them I had to go back and look at the film again since a lot of what had been said in the posts I had not heard in the film.  I turned the tv down, and turned up the audio on the computer and played the film a couple more times.  What did I hear?  Or maybe I should say what did I not hear?

I did not hear him laugh about the plight of the people in Louisana due to the storm.
I did not hear him laugh about the possibility of deaths due to the storm.
I did not hear him laugh about the suffering the people there would go through.
I did not hear him laugh about the damage property the storm could cause.

What I did hear was him chuckle about the TIMING of the storm with the RNC.  Period.

The right wing advocates here at CM are really stretching things when they have to try to spin lies into what they are proclaiming.   Isn't the right wing supposed to  be the champions of the so called Moral Majority?  Can you tell me just how it is in any way "moral" to make up lies about someone just so you can try to tarnish their reputation and throw mud at their party?

I'm not saying this guy is a saint.  No politition is.  Nope....not even Obama.  But come on...at least try to find legitimate things to point your finger at.   I've said it before and I'll say it again...if you have to lie, fabricate, or exagerate to try to make your point then you lose all credibiliy.

slvemike4u -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:47:10 PM)

WTF was Peyton Randolph(I apologise for my ignorance beforehand,if it turns out I should know this)

slvemike4u -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 8:48:32 PM)

Got it,and I'm glad I got the apology out of the way....carry on.

JerryFrankster -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (8/31/2008 10:34:34 PM)

This does nothing except to make me even more smug about voting third party. [:)]

servantforuse -> RE: Top Democrat caught on tape laughing about hurricane (9/1/2008 6:54:05 AM)

It's to bad he didn't get the sexist jokes about Sarah Palin on tape. You have to love those kind and compassionate liberals...
