Allegedly she joined the Alaskan Independence Party in '94 attended their convention and registered as a Rep in '96.

This has already been debunked by the Alaskan Division of Elections...

Voter registration records show Sarah Palin registered in May 1982 as a member of the Republican Party and has not changed her affiliation. Todd Palin has been registered undeclared since 2002, Fenumiai said.

As an interesting aside, Todd Palin registered under the Alaskan Independence Party in 1995 and 2000.

(And the Democrats say McCain didn't check Palin out thoroughly?  How many of their rumors have now been shown to be false?)

Just wait til you see the cover of the Us Weekly....  they ran with the "Lies and coverup" storyline, and when asked about it today their response was "Well, it will all get cleared up in the news cycle".  Meaning, it's okay to put garbage on the cover of your magazine or newspaper, because eventually the truth will come out and clear things up.

Same old politics of the machine.

If the Democrats want to choose an unqualified, inexperienced nominee only because he's a minority then that is their prerogative - but no one else has to go along with the charade.

Didn't Obama Mama do the same thing? She got knocked up and married her baby Daddy. Who then divorced her, so she dumped baby on Granny, and disappeared.

If anything needs to be vetted, I'd say find out why Obama Mama bailed on him.

Aside from not even having your facts straight, how does what happened to him as an infant possibly reflect on him?

Are you detatched from reality? If this is a reference to Obama, he seized the nomination on his own merit. He won. He competed. Arguably, too, he won despite his race..... .

Maybe you're just against ethnic or minority affirmative action as opposed gender promotions.

And  Sanity...

When a feminist with the credentials of Geraldine Ferraro starts talking about crossing over to McCain, shows just how much the Obama camp miscaculated in not chosing or at the very least vetting La Femme Clinton.

Or maybe they did and she declined.  Why should she take second place?

Anyone who sees this taken as a negative to the political base of the Republican Party in general or the fundamental 'Christian' right in particular is delusional and out of touch with reality.

Governor Palin is the living example of the alleged liberal goal of 'choice'. The situation is uncovering the reality of the liberal left that they want you to be free to choose; as long as your choice is in line with their idealism. The attacks are very telling and Senator Obama is wise to try and defray them. Senator Palin represents realty. Her daughter's situation can and does happen to anyone, including the good Senator's mother, it relates to many who consider themselves 'conservative'. To imply anything else would be to say that only the daughters of 'liberals' have babies out of wedlock.

Governor Palin's daughter has as much to do with the failure, or need of, sex ed in schools as Senator Obama's existence supports the pro-life agenda.

So, a woman who is opposed to teaching teenagers birth control and instead believes they can be told to "just say no" to sex, and whose daughter ends up pregnant, doesn't seem the slightest bit ironic to you?

Palin's daughter could have benefited from one of these free condoms so liberally distributed by the Democrats  . Harsh, but true.

Where's that bowl you speak of?

Oh yeah, because teenagers always use condoms, especially African American minority teenages. Don't you know that is why the out of  wedlock teenage birthrate in that community is so low. And let us not forget, the out of wedlock teenage father rate among African Americans is soooooo low as to be non existant. They never pressure teenage girls into sex w/o a condom.

Sadly, it seems that the lower you get in the economic class range, the more pregancies you get. And the strange thing is, there are all kind of free resourses, free condoms, free birth contol pills and such in the Low and lower middle salary range neighborhoods than in the upper/rich ones where the actually pay for such things.

Seriously Sun Kitten.... I think in your heart you probably know better and if not you need to look a little deeper. Free or not, teenages just do not use birth control, especially condoms!

•The pregnancy rate among black teens decreased 40% between 1990 and 2000, more than the overall U.S. teen pregnancy rate declined during the same period (36%).

•Two-thirds of all teen pregnancies occur among 18-19-year-olds.

Interesting.  Unfortunately i couldn't find the rates on abortions comparing African-Americans to other groups, but i can tell you that because of financial disadvantage, and in part, due largely to religious beliefs, African-American teens often have their babies rather than abort them.  Two sides to every story.  Now i wonder...are alot of the ultra cons still pro life when the babies are dark?  Or does it become less vital an issue???

So your argument is that Obama is qualified and competent to be President because the Democratic Party says he is.

Well, hell, why bother with the election?  Let's just skip straight to the coronation (or is it canonization?)

Ken,

The same question was aked about why Obama, having hurt his knee or hip to the point that he needed to go in for xrays, waited until he could get back to a hospital where his wife has a hell of a lot of pull.  I can only assume that the woman, who has given birth to 4 children prior to this one, was aware of how close she was to delivering and with her doctors' permission got home as quickly and safely as possible.  Perhaps, it had something to do with comfort, and the fact that all of her medical history (including knowledge of the baby's condition) were at her hospital.  Suggesting an alterior motive seems a bit extreme, especially the motive you are suggesting.

You talk about safety, why is that same question not brought up about the numerous folks that every day drive 95mph trying to get their pregnant partner to the hospital?

I do view driving 95 as nuts. It's why I stay off the Dan Ryan.

Obama's knee or hip injury wasn't life threatening and his choice was to go to the University of Chicago hospital. You know the place, just a step down, maybe, from John Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic.

Palin's choice was to go to a small regional medical center without a NICU for a premature baby with Trisomy. Spin it all you want but her decisions endangered the life of the child.

You don't know that, actually.....and neither could Obama have known it at the time.

Any injury requiring x-rays is also an injury that has the potential to throw off a blood clot or two.  Buried a co-worker a few years back three weeks after he had knee surgery because he wouldn't stay off  the leg long enough for it to heal, and a blood clot traveled from the surgery site right into his heart.

Hey there Fat, where did she mention African Americans? and the Caps on MINORITY....just curious....or did you just throw that in for affect?....

And you too sun kittin...

My point is the out of wedlock teenage birth rate is out of control in America and in particular it is a problem a near pandemic in the African American community and all the free condoms in the world are not stopping it!

That somehow a free condom would have stopped that pregnancy or some, or many or most is false.

I could take you to a great number of Baltimore City Middle and High Schools, (Both overwhelminly African American populated) where birth control counseling are in school or easy to get to and the follow up medications are free, and  The condoms are availblle, in not only nurses offices, but athlete offices, common rooms and community rooms and many class rooms.  And the more money they spend on condoms, the more the birth rate goes up!

They are bending over backward in Baltimore inner city schools to point out that sex is the surest way to get pregnant, that condoms and birth control works and again the rates keep going up.  And the nessages, in on bill boards, buses, light rail and subway trains and posters throughout schools.

Ok, now that you have pointed out why you think sex education doesn't work can you tell us what you believe does?

No, what's ironic is the way people drag this teen's personal life through the dirt for some supposed political gain of some kind after the message that the left preached about Bill Clinton's little escapade with a certain young intern.

Can you tell me why moveon.org is named moveon.org, and then tell me with a straight face that its okay to attack this family's personal life?

Surely even if free condoms were only 5% effective, that 5% is better than zero.

Unless of course the free condoms actually caused a greater rate, which seems the case in lower income areas where free condoms are handed out like candy in schools and community centers.

Condoms cause more teen sex?  HUH?

I don't think the ultra cons even formulate the idea in their minds until a post like yours comes along. Then they try to studiously ignore it.

The bigger issue other than pregnancy is STDs. I read a statistic that over 60% of female college freshmen have been exposed to HPV which is a leading cause of cervical cancer.

Birth control doesnt prevent many of these diseases.

Better to ask why this supposedly devoted mother would accept the position knowing that this would put her daughter's unwed pregnancy in the media spotlight.  Would you have done the same or would you have opted to protect your family first?

And please spare me the moralizations.  We both know Republicans would be all over this in a heartbeat if she was the Democratic VP.  You used Bill Clinton's indiscretions as an example.  Did you and the other conservatives who bared every detail of his sexual encounters stop to think how it affected his daughter to hear these intimate details that were only designed to further embarrass, not to prove any point?
