You can think of this as a "time out" for grown ups.

No, your post came right up, so I guess you're out of the corner.

Well thinking of it that way just leads me to the inescapable conclusion that if I was such a grown-up,I wouldn't need a time out...

I know what it is, but why does it happen?  Like what makes a mod put a post up for approval?  Why would the post have to be approved?  Why doesnt it just pop up like the rest of them?

It is the poster that is under need to be approved not the individual post. One can wind up in this limbo by responding before thinking in a negative and derogatory way to a fellow poster.

Generally, for repeatedly violating the Terms of Service.

She just hired a lawyer for the Abuse of Power investigation.Which will dog her the whooooole campaign.

And she`s in trouble now, with involvement in the Ted  Stevens mess.

I`m liking her pick more and more, and hope the secessionist survives to at least to the convention`s end.

Yup,shake`n in my boots I am.

I think its funny that they passed up two more qualified VP candidates because they were pro choice... CANT HAVE DEM BABY KILLERS IN OFFICE!  MURDERERS!  Its just another issue that makes the republican party look completly freakin stupid.

Or passing up a woman that arguably got as many votes as Obama, for a man that has never been able to secure his party's nomination, and that had to actually pull out of a prior one because he borrowed a speech?  Hmmm, I think Palin's small town cast more votes than Biden received in the primaries...

Just sayin.
You righties are awfully fond of saying Hillary got snubbed. Do you have any evidence of that? Any at all? If you cannot find any evidence of it, are you going to stop repeating it?

I said she got as many votes as Obama, is that incorrect?  Biden got about 9k votes, is that incorrect?  I will leave the accusations of fix and impropriety to the PUMAs.

For every reason Obama should have picked Hillary, there are two why he shouldn't have.  For one thing, he stood a good chance of being overshadowed by her. And then you have Bill back in the White house... which COULD be a good thing, but the GOP would have been having kittens. Another might be that, still being in the Senate, she would actually have more power to affect change than she would have had as VP....

But then again...

... we're still not entirely sure she might not end up as part of his cabinet.

So, after one major decision by each candidate, it stacks up as

1. A carefully-thought out pick with a lot of experience, decided on only after a very thorough vetting.
2. A political hail-mary who hadn't been vetted in any meaningful way and whom the candidate had only met once or twice.

I think that sums up pretty well what kind of leader both Obama and McCain would be if they win.  I'm voting for #1.  I've had enough of #2 the last 8 years.

Clear, succint, to the point...  And what do the Republicans talk about?  Ummm, "HELP Sarah Palin defend herself against attacks on her daughter!"  "Oooo, Sarah Palin has five kids and had a cute line about pit bulls vs. soccer moms that everyone just loves."

Lol...  Nice Try, Republicans.

Yes, that's incorrect.

Results

Palin received 616 votes in her initial bid and 909 in her re-election race
Biden received 76,165 votes for president.

That barb came from the foot in mouth disease of Mike Huckabee.

Hillary didn't get 18 million votes?  That is the she I was referring to.  How many votes did Biden have when he dropped out again?  The comment about Palin's hometown, was a tongue in cheek statement to point out the difference, not in reference to how many votes she got.  Reread the comments prior, and it will make the subject of the pronoun more obvious.

I knew you were talking about Clinton. Here's what you actually said though -

quote:

I said she got as many votes as Obama, is that incorrect?

Yes, that's incorrect. Clinton got about 150,000 less votes that Obama which is 'not' as many.

quote:

Yes, that's incorrect. I already linked the source for Biden's 76,000+ votes.

You asked if you were inaccurate .. and, um, you were. If you don't want answers to questions, you shouldn't be asking them!

It's okay to admit you were inaccurate. The 'gist' of what you meant is understandable enough .. but, I'm one of those say what you mean, mean what you say and if you're gonna talk facts.. they'd better be accurate. If you want to talk ballpark, then by a ballpark figure, it's all good with Clinton/Obama .. 9000 doesn't seem too much in the same ballpark as 76,000+ though and that's the one I was really looking at.

The Biden number I used was what he had when he dropped out.  Fair enough he got more.  He still finished last.  Is that 150k difference between Clinton and Obama, including the numbers given to him via the compromise (Michigan)?  It matters little in the grand scheme of things, it still illustrates my point, and I thank you for keeping me honest.

Like I said the comparison of her hometown and Biden was a tongue in cheek remark, and yes I was wrong.
