They could go for Billy, but been there, done that.

Funny because all I heard was it wasn't an issue with Bill, why is it an issue now?

...it was an issue for Republicans then.......

I still say Palin was an excellent strategic choice.

You have got to be kidding.

Nope.  If I was cashing checks from the McCain campaign, that's the same advice I'd have given them.  Look how terrified the Dems and Lefties are.  They are practically frothing at the mouth, lashing out frantically, with one vicious attack after another, and that is going to splash right back on Barry.  I've already posted about that.

Now, might I be wrong?  Sure.  Watch her speech.  We'll see how she does.  I think she's goes to blow a lot of people away, especially if she grabs that "18 million cracks" line.

Terrified?  Lashing out frantically?  Vicious attacks?

The only thing I've seen are justifiable questions and criticisms.  I mean, for God's sake, the woman is under investigation for abuse of her power as Governor.  The Democrats didn't make that up.

The only people I see frantically lashing out are those trying to defend what is increasingly looking like a fatal mistake for McCain's bid for President.

Yes and the democrats kept screaming it didn't matter.....so why does it matter now?

Clinton? It was an issue for cons, not for libs.

Palin? It is an issue for cons, not for libs.

Conservatives are sin intolerant and hypocrisy friendly.

Conservatives are just a political machine.  They'll say anything and do anything, to get elected.  It's all a game for them, so they can get power and pad their pockets.

So I'm guessing you missed the Daily Kos first swing at her.  Google it up, or stay in denial, as you prefer.

As for Palin being a "fatal mistake," we'll have to agree to disagree.  We'll know in two months.

Just wait until November.

Not sure what being an independent means here, lest that be casting one's vote in some sort of protest direction. I actually have a harder time understanding voters who have not decided how they will vote in NOV.

The insanity might be batting around all these political balls from fixed positions.

Yes, by intention.  I try not to use blogs as definitive sources of information anymore than I do the opinions and "facts" posted here.

Yet, you cannot deny she has some serious issues that are not going to go away.  Nor can you deny that they are legitimate subjects of inquiry, which again makes me wonder why she was McCain's choice.  Why would you pick a running mate that would invite negative reaction unless it was the product of a hasty decision?

Because the negativity of the reaction can be very persuasive to those who are turned off by such attacks.  If the Palin nomination sends the Dem base into a mouth-frothing frenzy (which it has), how is that going to play among those who aren't governed by hate?  The behavior of his followers reflects right back on Obama.

I'll be very interested to see the poll numbers next week.  The early ones I've seen on her are looking good.

'Hate' is a pretty big word to describe disagreement, but otherwise, yes. It's been repeated again and again. Palin wasn't nominated with any other aim than to try and get good PR for her party. It's nothing to do with McCain's plans for running office, or for government, or for policy: it's about public relations, media exposure, and mass manipulation. So much for change [8|] .

Sanity -> RE: Palin: Two Words.. (9/5/2008 8:12:39 PM)

I seriously doubt that McCain thinks like that. He probably just wanted to try and get the Republican base on board, get some of the Hillary vote, and maybe please his beautiful younger wife...

It seemed to me that the Left's overreaction really surprised him. After all, he is friendly with many Democratic Senators, he's been popular among left-leaning voters, and he has been for a very long time. This vitriol is a fairly new phenomena, at least this level of vitriol.

I think McCain is the genuine article - a little bit naive, really surprised by all the hatred.

Well, uhm... Yeah.  It's called an election, Kitten.  That I believe she could be a tremendously effective force in Washington is merely a plus.

Does it make you wish you could vote?

kittinSol -> RE: Palin: Two Words.. (9/5/2008 8:38:59 PM)

You bet it does. I'm still enjoying the spectacle immensely, one way or the other :-) .

I believe you hit the nail on the head this time Rich, to disavow a bridge to nowhere, and make it your shining standard,. but accept the money is going to be real change in america. It must be about principles, don't you think?

They made a movie like that once. 'The bridge over the river kwai'.

Good flick; they had actors who played like they had actually done this, fuckin' wrenched my heart. Turns out, Alec Guiness really didn't do that, imagine my surprise.

BitaTruble -> RE: Palin: Two Words.. (9/5/2008 10:27:32 PM)

Okay, I've never actually heard of someone filing an ethics complaint against themself. Does this mean Palin thinks she has no ethics so filed the complaint.. or does she think that she'll be vindicated by a positive finding and that's why she filed the complaint .. I'm not getting this at all. The legislature is already investigating the issue, so why file a complaint against yourself? [sm=AttentionWhore.gif]

::shrugs:: I guess it's a good way to keep your name in the paper .. and off the real issues, like $4 a gal for gas, 590,000+ jobs lost, a billion bux to Georgia .. you know, trival stuff like that.
