Greetings Masters from a little one. I received a cmail earlier today from a self-proclaimed Dom who insisted that due to the location of my body art - 3 tats on my back and a full chestpiece - no "quality Dom" would ever take me seriously. Personally, I feel this is untrue. This art is not for giggles and means much to this girl and the placement of such was very carefully thought out. I feel a "quality Dom" would take the time to understand his sub/slave and the reasons for such work. I am interested to hear what other Masters have to say about it and this sub would be very appreciative of the input.

I love emails like that...classic. I see no issue with body art, unless it is hackneyed. I do plan on having my own slave tattooed (he currently has none). Yes, some will prefer ‘unmarked’ but you are certainly more than quality (from what I have seen) and you will someday fine your quality Dom. Clearly, it was NOT that guy...

I would think that the qualities that are on the inside of "you" are much more important then the ink that is on the outside. And btw. I looked at your work and do not think it detracts at all from your beauty. :-) C-D

Everyone has some things about them that will cause some people to rule them out as potentials. Only idiots assume that their prefrences are 'Everyones'. Every thing in your life that causes some to rule you out immedeatly - I for instance, am fat, 40, balding, diabetic, and over all in not the greatest health - certainly no fitness Diva. I am Southern and under-educated. My religion and family are important to me. I have a Boisister who is a Dom who has three young children at home. All of these things - ALL of them - are nothing but filters. They make the pool smaller for you to wade through - but they could never possibly elimenate the 'right' one, so making the pool smaller can only be a good thing. Edit - I went and looked at your pics, though, and I do have to say this. Since the body art represents important things to you, perhaps you should put up ind. pics of your tats so they can be clearly viewed? When the right person comes along perving you, that might just be a great conversation starter.

I think they are beautiful and the guy just had a "bad dom day". It doesn't matter what he thinks. All that matters is what you think, and that your potencial partners sees the beauty of you.

That's correct! I prefer to consider myself "gravitationally special". I make it a point to often celebrate Newton's Laws by tripping and falling flat on my face.

It was a stupid thing for him to say. Maybe he doesn't like body art on submissive women, but he is certainly not entitled to speak for all dominant men out there, unless of course he is god...? Your art is a part of you. A dominant who is a "quality dom" for you will recognize that and love that about you. Seriously, don't let the turkeys get you down. If it helps, I have a tattoo that my former master put on me as his mark of ownership. He designed it and I have worn it for the last 3 years. Now I am no longer his, and I've wondered how to feel about this mark on me. The man I am talking to now asked me about it, and I told him. He remarked that he really liked it. Surprise, surprise. All of you is all of you. A dominant who can not accept all of you is not a quality dom for you. A dominant who can and will accept all of you is not going to turn you away for your art.

I think that's ridiculous like somehow having a tattoo defines who you are. I have two tattoos and several piercings. It doesn't affect my ability to serve or to make a decision. I think that's ridiculous oh wait I already said that.

ohh, i love those. i started working on a scarification peice that means the world to me. it will end up pretty complicated by the time it is said and done. i also plan on starting a modified chastity peircing. (ok i have been talking about it for two years, but i am finely over the what if's) it is something that is important to me. art and function that i need and want in the end. so i am gonna do it. the way i figure it, is that if you put something permanent on your body it has a meaning. why would that make you less? makes me wander somedays lee

My tattoos came about as a form of military stripes. Any time I went through a rough period in my life, and survived, I got a tattoo that had bearing on the situation. Now, any time I am feeling like "I can't do this" or "I can't make it", I strip, look in the mirror, and realize I've fought longer, harder, and rougher battles and made it just fine. So not only does each piece have specific meaning, but my work as a whole reminds me of my inner strength and courage. Does it make me any less submissive? No. It takes a strong woman to submit and it actually makes me more in tune with myself, my purpose in life and my place.

It's just personal preference. I've dated guys who ADORE tattooed women, and aren't sure about piercing, guys who love piercings (Heh, I went up to 13 for him), and guys who would be happy either way. I'd want to get a tattoo, but haven't found anything that really speaks to me yet. :( To jump on someone and send a snotty email to someone like that is just basic 'failure at social skills'. Ignore the trolls- the tats are cute. [:D]

VivaciousSub, I looked at your tattoos. They are beautiful and very sexy, as is the woman whose skin they emblazon. Very tasteful and classy. As for the Dominant who insisted that "no quality Dom would ever take you seriously because of your tattoos", this is utter nonsense. Perhaps your tattoos aren't to his taste. I tend to think that any Dominant who is truly interested in you as a person wouldn't really care whether you had tattoos or not. And Actually, I'd say that a Dominant who finds you interesting as a person is also likely to appreciate your tattoos. Your tattoos are part of who you are and they enhance your beauty in a totally unique way. Totally different topic now. Avoid referring to yourself in the third person, such as "this girl", "this sub", etc. For many Dominants (and kinksters alike), this is a huge turn-off. If a Master wishes you to refer to yourself this way, he will ask you, but at the outset I'd just speak of yourself in normal English. Using "I" is perfectly acceptable as is using your name/handle when context and grammar call for this. Elan.
