I had two tattoos when I met Sir.  They each represent a stage in my life and mean a lot to me.  They are part of my journey since I left my ex husband six years ago. 

I have since added another and there will probably be more.  Sir lets me choose my own ink, although He does have some good suggestions of His own [;)]  He Himself has no tatts - He says He never found anything He liked enough to want permanently etched on Him.

Some people like body mods, others don't.

However if your tattoos have your previous dom's name on them, that would be a turn off.

I would agree, so it's a good thing I never violated the "tattoo PSA" and tattooed someone's name on me permanently! [:'(]

Frankly, the fact that this ersatz Dom presumes to speak for everyone else in the lifestyle just tickles the sh*t out of me.

It would seem that there are some out there who claim to have the knowledge/BDSM market cornered.

OP, I wouldn't put much stock in such blanket statements. The fact that this so-called 'Dom' decided to open his trap and share his wealth of 'knowledge' with you is a great opportunity to use the 'clock user' feature.

Your cute, his probably not in your league.

So he tries to make you feel bad (and insecure), he walks away smug.

His probably down in his parents basement now, surfing for other profiles to send gems of wisdom from a "quality Dom" to.

I've gotten a lot of crap about my lifestyle-inspired tattoo, but that is more due to people's negative ideas about the box it places me in, than the general idea of body art. I've seen profiles and posts by people who state that body art in any form is not their thing, but off all the guys who have commented on my tattoo in a negative manner those guys have been the most respectful, actually... :)

I think you are lucky to find out he was an asshole so early on.
All appearence is so fleeting, we change by the day, how shallow to base anything on such a flimsy thing as tattoos?
"Quality Dom", does that mean hand stitched or something?

I think so! He's also likely to have a sticker I saw - I'm not kidding - at the Dollar Store that says "Made in Chain".

I tried to reply with: Good, then I won't have to deal with your sorry ass then, will I?

But he'd blocked me....LMAO!!

My tats, like others have said, mark milestones in my life. If someone is going to judge me based solely on my ink (whether they like OR dislike them), then we arent going to be compatible.

Lol.[:D]. Evidently he was a little afraid of what you might say huh. I wouldn't turn away a good female because of them..that would be ridiculous i think.

Two of mine represent my spiritual side and two represent my personality. All were done at a pivotal moment in my life. It may be time for another [:D]

Slight derail:
Actually I've grown fond of the that form of speech. Don't change a thing. First part of statement was a good post and it applies to the second part as well. Keep doing it. Plenty of Masters do like it and will appreciate it. If they don't like it then they will tell you.

I have no tatoos but I do have scars from a lot of surgeries that have saved my life.  If all someone sees is the scars, then we likely are not going to be compatible either.

Tats can be wonderfully taste, or not!!!  I think there are artists out there that can do some amazing things..but I don't want the sub covered over 90% of her body either.  Then again thats My choice, not his...and frankly, if the sub is one I want..as long as they make her happy  who the hell would I be to say No way.

What my tats mean:

Right Lower Back: an Aran Cross. It's a variety of Celtic cross where the vertical bar stands for the spiritual world, the horizontal stands for the earthly world, and the circle where the bars cross is the world we live in, a mix of the two. I got it because I'm very Irish and that part of my heritage resonates deeply with me.

2nd one is my dragons on my mid-back. The two serpents entwine around the phrase Here Be Dragons. It's from medieval Welsh cartography. Welsh cartographers were considered the best in the world, and where ships were going off into the Unknown, they would put on of the dragons there with that phrase. I got that one after I uprooted myself from all my extended family and first adult friends and moved back down here from Philadelphia to run my own business. It was a scary ass time.

3rd one is on my upper back between my shoulder blades. It says Siempre Y Siempre which is Spanish for Always and Forever...a sign of my permanence. I have manic-depression and this past New Years/Xmas was horrific, I attempted suicide for the 3rd time - it's the last, I assure everyone, I busted ass this winter to get and stay better, no mood swings in nearly a year now - and it reminds me not to quit/give up on myself.

4th and 5th compose my chestpiece. The right side is a tongue of flame, representing the fiery/passionate aspect of my personality and the left side is an icicle, representing the cooler and more rational side of me. I purposely left the middle empty as my heart always resides between these two extremes. The colors come from PET scans of people during manic episodes - bright oranges, reds and yellows, like a lit Christmas tree, and during depressive episodes - dark blues, greens and purples. Again, I live my life somewhere in the middle.

I thought long and hard before getting these done, and all of them were free-hand designed by the artist I've been going to for years. I give him a general idea of the design and what I want it to represent and he does the rest. He's fantastic, runs a great studio downtown and I'd be happy to recommend local FL people to him!
