What do you use this community for/ i mean: why are you on collarme? to pst? To find a mate? To debate? Chat in chat room? Exchange emails/ Get advice/
i've been interested in this question for some time as i have often looked at the 'hit' rate to posts and it is approximately ten times the response rate.: so for every 10 responses on a thread there are about 100 others reading that thread. That's quite a hit rate and yet i wonder why those 90 don't respond by posting themselves.
i joined collarme because of a refferral from a friend and immediately felt it was like a spiritual home...indeed it does feel like the world's largest bdsm community and i have not only met my One but made truly amazing friends here in the year i have been on collarme. As 'prinsexx' i also used the journal facility to write as there is a different motivation knowing that others are going to read one's words.
This is also in defence of this community which has been called 'flaky' and is the subject of another thread.
So why are you on collarme?

I'm here to make friends and talk with other people in the lifestyle. Apparently that is considered the 'wrong' reasons by some people who like to send me emails and say I should delete my profile since this is a dating service and nothing more. I don't agree with them at all, but that's just me.

im here to meet like minded people...not necessarily to blow them. i have made more friends locally from this site than any other means and i love the boards here as opposed to any of the other sites i frequent.
i think that friendship is more important than dating relationships and personally i have found that the partners i have are not from CM as much as from my real time munches and playparties.
CM is not just a dating site.

It is for the camaraderie although at times I feel like the soccer style kicker on a pro football team of behemoths. That’s U.S. style football for those of you in the UK other places.

So why are you on collarme?

First may I say your new pic is gorgeous! I think I came here to find other liked minded individuals. We tried some of the local groups in our area with horrible results and after those experiences decided to step away for a while and re group. Perhaps at that time it wasn't meant to be. There are many lovely, intelligent souls here. I look forward to getting to know many more.

There are certain posters who frequent this site who express themselves in a way that touches on who I am. I do not have that ability to communicate in the written word as well as they do so I have been watching them and learning how to communicate my ideas thru their own. Basically, it is a learning experiance for me.

That and I am here for the free donuts and bdsm porn.

i came here to communicate with others in the D/s lifestyle about lifestyle-related issues. there is very little opportunity for me to chat/debate/verbally exchange with anyone...lifestyle or not...offline, being a house slave and my Master being my only friend for now. so without the interaction with other human beings...human beings who can somewhat relate to the way i live and things i believe...that i get from the collarme message boards and similar places, i would totally go crazy.

i came here originally to meet people and maybe find a dominant. i have met some wonderful people on this site, also met some, oh boy, damn scary ones too. now it is more for the forums, and really to stay in touch with those that you only talk to here. also helps whore out Master Cecil on occasion. terrible i know. i also have 4 years, and pages of journal entries.

i enjoy the forums. they have provided and provocted alot of thoughts at times. made me laugh til i was sore. i do miss some that are gone.

also gives me something to do on days, nights like this when i cant sleep.

I came here to learn. If I want to be on the vanilla side of the fence or the BDSM side. Currently I'm leaning towards the BDSM side.

I've learnt much, have met many great people in the chat rooms and also made a few friends.

CM is definitely much more than a dating site, much more.

I came to Collarme for a couple of different reasons. My Darling and I are looking for servants -- both those interested in long-term situations and those who are looking to explore and see where their interests lie. I, personally, am also looking for bottoms... specifically "blood dolls"... individuals who are into blood-sport like cutting, branding, piercing, etc., and those are kind of hard to come by.

In addition to all of that, I like participating in philosophical and technical discussions about BDSM topics. I've been around the bend a few times, and am also exploring some new areas, so getting a chance to share what I've learned -and- getting a chance to learn from others perceptions on things seems like a really beneficial process for me. I get a lot of face-to-face interaction in the community, but this broadens my perspectives and horizons even further, which I enjoy.

Initially I joined to contact locals in my area and let them know that the new munch list was going strong. I was told about this site from a couple of the male subs in my group to see if I might have better luck contacting female dominants (I didn't).

For a brief time I thought this might also be a place I could find someone to drag to parties, but few who contacted me were unmarried or unattached.

I stayed because I enjoy reading and writing about bdsm and social issues.
I don't seek out anyone from here for romantic, play, or friendships, but I have developed some nice female friendships online largely because of various forum posts.
It sort of amuses me when people say "why are you here?" as if the only true reason is to find a meet and beat. Especially since it becomes obvious upon talking to them that they fear being seen with anyone who has a kink taint to them.
