I really don't see where this matters. Thanks to "Falwell vs. Flynt" legal precedent is established on the side of comedians parodying people in the public eye. That includes the Palins, and the NYT. In case you forgot, Larry Flynt ran a parody ad that suggested that Jerry Fallwell's "first time" was a drunken tryst with his mother in an outhouse. The Supreme Court of the United States upheld Flynt's right (and by extension all other comics making political or social commentary) to make a joke about politicians, religious leaders, and celebrities of all stripe. Nothing says it has to be a GOOD joke, which this clearly wasn't, but they have the right to do so all the same. And you, Fat, have the right to complain and bitch about it, and try to have people lose their jobs... all for a sketch that was, really, IN SUPPORT of your position, that the media has been treating Sarah Palin unfairly. (But you went off on your rant instead of trying to see what the intent was.) Yup. It was a crappily written sketch on SNL.... no big surprise there. SNL has become an institution on NBC... and because of that, they have been doing weaker and weaker material since the early glory days of the NRFPTP, when they did jokes like "Autumn Fizz... the Carbonated Douche" and the infamous bits written by Michael O'Donahughe. Frankly, it's because of republican, right wing cranks (people with a TV set and an email account, who are just waiting to be offended) who feel they have the right to be the final arpiters of national taste, who have destroyed any kind of real, "politically edgy" entertainment on TV.
