Heretic,i went back and read the Daily Kos thread ,found nothing in my view that justifies your "vile, degenerate, revolting slime"label...but it is nice to know you can throw around labels with the best of them, all while decrying the unfair treatment of Sarah from the Klondike.

Was that the Kos blog that stated that Palin's daughter was the real mother of the Down's child?

That would be the one, Fats.  The one Mike doesn't think can be described as "vile, degenerate", or "slimy."

I do find it that way.  I find the SNL skit in the same class.  I'm pretty sure those who don't see it that way are either blinded by partisanship, or completely accustomed to the stink.

But Obama will lose because of "racism," and they will forget any of it ever happened the next time somebody with an R by their name pulls a dirty stunt.

So you can kindly step back for a moment and quit attempting to put all Republicans in the same sweep of your generalization brush.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For some posters on here, that is like asking them to stop breathing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately, it's a backlash against Republicans since Reagan's time making liberal a dirty word and trying to paint every Democrat and every Democratic policy as liberal.

What goes around comes around.

You can't be a party to the tactic then whine that it's unfair when it's used against you.

Party to the tactic?

You can prove that each and every Republican that resides in the good ole USA agreed with Reagan's analysis of liberals?

Man... gotta hand it to ya.  That's probably the most ridiculous statement I've heard today.  It even beats out... "Obama is an Al Qaeda Muslim"

slvemike4u -> RE: The Skit (9/24/2008 7:29:49 PM)

Well Heretic in that case ,would you care to tell me whether I am blinded by partisanship,or completley accustomed to the stink?

Nope.  I think you have a whole different set of motives, Mike, and that's all I'm going to say about that.

Yup,and it was several Kos bloggers, who told the guy to STFU.

Your point?

Just because you parrot the RNC talking points, should we refer to CM as a right-wing echo chamber?

Nope.

Ok, I'll try again.

Feel free to ask questions if it gets confusing.

You complained that Republicans were being generalized.

I was pointing out that the Republicans started doing that in the Reagan years by generalizing  that all Democrats were liberals.  If you feel generalized you have only your own party to blame for creating the tactic of painting their opponents with the same brush.

I never said Reagan did it.  I never said all Republicans "in the good ole USA" do it.  You have to admit it's been a Republican Party theme for years.

bipolarber -> RE: The Skit (9/25/2008 1:32:03 PM)

Nah, you shouldn't generalize about republicans. There are several distinct types... (sort of like Dante, and his multiple circles of hell)

1) There's the average folks at home republican. These are the folks who ACTUALLY BELIEVE that stuff about the GOP being about smaller government, and more individual control over our own lives. (These are the folks who have "drunk the GOP kool-aide.") Generally, they go to church a lot, drink in the privacy of their own home, fuck with the lights off, and hate gays because they've never met any, and have only seen the "scare" films in church.

2) Then you have you middle management republicans. These are the folks who hold local office, and generally try to keep the peace, and stay out of everyone's business. At some point, they get pulled into a State or National campaign, and then they begin to learn how to lie and cheat.

3) Upper level GOP hardliners: There are the long term party members who really don't give a crap about the ideology. They're in it to screw the little guy, and suck up as much graft as possible from lobbyists. They actively hate gays, work to overturn Roe v Wade (while they take their daughters on a "fact finding" mission to France for a "little operation" when nessacary) i.e. they are hypocrits.

Hit the button by mistake.

mnottertail -> RE: The Skit (10/6/2009 9:15:02 AM)

so since this popped up, why isn't the liberal hue and cry being raised about the skit of Obama?

here's why....nobody is picking on the neanderthal neo-cons any more than they are lampooning the liberals.

Hey, you are in the public eye, and you are fair game for parody.

Ron

Sanity -> RE: The Skit (10/6/2009 12:40:42 PM)

Because its painfully, agonizingly accurate.   [:D]

mnottertail -> RE: The Skit (10/6/2009 12:43:32 PM)

who was it painful for? nobody I know. Hell, Sanity, I ain't even seen the fuckin' thing, and did not see anything other than a brief clip of Palin seeing Russia on some website.

It seems like a tempest in a teapot (just like the tea baggers) to me, and I said so at the outset.

Ron
