Status: offline 		I've been so disappointed by submissive men. We will talk for hours and hours and hours, I begin to get invested in him. We talk about real time. And he disappears.... This has happened to me over and over and over again. I ask for explanations. But, I never get anything. Can someone please tell me why this happens?

Status: offline 		Forget about why. Figure out a different way to handle this. Instead of overinvesting in each other, with the anxiety growing that when you do finally meet, you won't click, try meeting before you've invested so much.

IM a couple of times, exchange a couple of emails, chat on the phone two or three times and then meet for coffee.

Status: offline 		One great thing about meeting people at munches and events is that you meet them face to face, get to know them, socialize with them.  Those you meet that way are much more likely to stick with it than people we meet online.  A friend once told me that 90% of those we meet online are not who they say they are.

- some maybe not be ready to meet
- some aren't honest with themselves about what they actually want
-some just want to play head games
The reasons why are vast and instead of investing too much too soon, use a measure of skepticism until you've met the person once, twice or more.

Status: offline 		i talk to a whole lot of folks online...the level of involvement is variable...but the partners that i have and the people that i consider to be friends or more...are all from realtime experiences...munches and the like. i have tried to set up meets with online acquaintences, they tend to back down.

Example...if i were to go to Florida, i might tell GT that i am going to be at x event...or find out from her what event she might attend during my visit...and i betcha we meet up...but only because we are both planning to attend that event...and im irresistable (references upon request).

She is in the minority.

i have been talking to several local dominant men for literally months, who pester me non stop about getting together...but as soon as i send the link to the dungeon i go to every blessed weekend....oooh wait...i cant be there...sorry. i use that as a filter to determine whether or not they are sincere.
Online is online...and interpersonal relationships of any nature are not to be played like a computer game...at least for me.

Status: offline 		Well from personal experience I just think most of them are Ghosts in sheep's clothing lol or phantoms that disapeer into the mist leaving us completely confused. That's just my opinion. Since it has happened to me several times...its like the online game that doesn't end happily. Best of luck to you FluffyKitty in your search, as someone on collar me once said "Sometimes its better to give up looking and let them come to you instead of trying to seek them out every day," when the moment is right it will hopefully and fingers crossed happen to you.
