No, but when you keep seeing something over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, it's difficult not to generalize.

Isn't Missouri the "Show Me" state?

'Technique?' lol. A reluctant bj is amongst the most tedious experiences, like a bad steak, because it resembles a previous pleasure.
Are we talking about a dom and his long term s/thing where this may have been agreed upon and successful on an earlier occasion or some loser with a terrible understanding of women, hitting on a stranger?

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/29/2008 10:03:09 PM)

yes, it is...but it's just a motto

don't know why i posted to this forum though...don't even care for receiving oral. and i sure don't care for "BJ's"

Maybe I just keep running into them, but there seem to be a great number of men who believe that when a woman is sad, or not feeling well, or having a bad day,  it's a good idea to tell her that she'd feel better if she gave them a blowjob. I'm not kidding. Really.

This would cheer me up as long as I was allowed to laugh. I mean, what a clever man to cheer me up with a dick in my mouth- so tactful.

If I was upset about some petty thing, I would take the bj suggestion as the guy telling me to move on and get over it... but if I was seriously upset with good reason I would definitely be hurt. I guess it's all about context.

I actually have been in the reverse situation, where I cheered myself up by giving a blowjob, I didn't ask permission. It was a good distraction and made me feel pleased with myself rather than upset... ha.

Somehow, you've managed to amass nearly 4000 posts on this forum.  You're acting like this is your third.

Regarding offering to fuck someone's mouth to make them feel better: So what?  It's just an offer, clearly the recipient can take it or leave it.  If you're offended by being given a choice, or in particular about the idea of one of the choices, maybe you're a prude.  It's not an offer I've ever given anyone, but I don't think sexual acts are inappropriate things to offer someone who's in a bad mood.

IMO, it was kind of him to offer.  (if the story's even true)

Michael, when Ray said "we'll have to show him", it was a joke, due to the fact that you're from Missouri, "The Show Me State".  It seems like you missed that it was a joke.

Notsweet -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 7:15:27 AM)

If the story's true? Clearly, other people here have heard the same thing...

I don't think it's all men. I think there's a particular kind of stupid out there, and I don't think recognizing genuine stupid makes anyone a prude. In fact, that reminds me a lot of the Lotharios who, after being shot down for their awkward, ill timed pick-up attempts, console themselves by telling their buddies "She must be a dyke." After all, any heterosexual woman would have immediately swooned and dropped to their knees. [:D]

Think of it this way--you tell a woman that you're in the midst of a heartbreak, and she says, "Well, you'd feel a lot better if you gave me money." Does that make it clearer?

cjan -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 7:40:00 AM)

The longer this thread goes on, the more clear it becomes to me that some folks here lack a sense of humor , irony and even a sense of proportion. Humor and a sense of irony ( unlike cynicism ) can, in fact cure a case of "the blues", "the blahs" and even an occasional headache.

Humor , imo, can't be imparted any more than a joke can be explained and still be funny, so, I won't attempt it. However, I will say that a lack of sense of humor and irony is often characteristic of people who take themselves and life in general too seriously. Just as sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, a suggestion to "suck my dick" is just that. At other times, it may be a way of suggesting you take two aspirins, get your head out of your ass and be gratefull that you have a dick to suck amongst your other blessings.

Notsweet -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 9:51:04 AM)

Cjan (nice to meet you, by the way), I've never been accused of not having a sense of humor. In fact, much to the contrary, I've been asked to knock it off on more than one occasion. That's how I know that, now and then, it's important not to be funny, but to be compassionate and caring. For my part, I'm compassionately telling guys that "suck my dick" is probably not the best way to be invited back again when the lady is hurting.

I did say it was a serious question, you know.

On a side note, do you know the genesis for the saying, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar?" Great story--the short version is that Freud oft stated that oral fixations were the basis for certain personality issues, and that people who were "stuck" frequently had issues with phallus shaped items. He also smoked a great number of cigars every day. At a social event, some sly boots asked him if the cigars were penis substitutes, which is when he announced "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." At least, that's how the story goes.

In other words, Freud was a friggin' hypocrite.

And for the record, I do NOT have to be grateful to have a dick to suck. I once siphoned a swimming pool with a garden hose and was too stupid to know how to do it other than by sucking on the end till the water came up. A dick should be grateful (and careful) to be betwix my lips.

Dnomyar -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 10:09:11 AM)

Thank you cali.

Dnomyar -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 10:13:57 AM)

LMAO Notsweet. That garden hose thing is killing me. To bad you have to keep some of your best zings to yourself.

Notsweet -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 10:42:58 AM)

City girl in the 'burbs, Dnomyar. I may have been pretty damn dumb, but I sure got a lot of admiration from the (male) neighbors.

Yes and Michael .. this is the Polls and Other Random Stupidity Forum.

We're talking about Poles and being randomly stupid.

Relax. Have fun.

cjan -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 3:42:05 PM)

Nice to "meet " you as well, NTS. I wasn't refering to you, btw. I did note that you said you were asking this seriously, and I agree, sometimes , I suppose, I don't take some things seriously enough. Perhaps my problem here is that I have a hard time believing that a man who suggests that, when you are truly feeling badly, you suck his dick in order to feel better should be taken seriously. Ummm...seriously.

Btw, what I meant by being grateful to have a dick to suck (gratitude, in this instance, is, of course, a two way street ) , amongst other blessings, was to be grateful for such things as lovers, partners, mates, etc., imperfect as we are. Soooo, the point here is that ya can no more take me literally than seriously...usually. Seriously.

Notsweet -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 7:35:50 PM)

Ok, Cjan, but now I have another question for you...

If, in fact, I can suck pool water from a garden hose, should I warn somebody about this beforehand?

MadAxeman -> RE: Serious question--has this EVER worked? (9/30/2008 8:10:49 PM)

No, that would be when you can suck a bowling ball up the hose.
