Plain and simple, Senator Obama is held to the highest standards there are. The fact that MANY people are willing to vote for someone that says the things that Sarah Palin says, to be Vice President of the United States, under a man that could easily not be healthy enough to last the 4 years of his Presidency is what scares me. It is sad that at this day and age, that many would rather vote for a Senior Bush clone and a rambling and confused bumpkin who doesn't appear to have a clue about the world, the economy, or even what is important to our country, OVER someone like Obama/Biden! It is so deep that many would vote for Joe the corner barber over Obama, because supporting Palin is a kin to that mindset, and that is deep.

I am not so concerned about McCains longevity, while his father was no quarter horse, his mom watched her seventy two year old son accept a nomination. So he lies somewhere betwixt and between that, in all likelyhood. What I find extremely unsettling is that this fuck may never die in a convienient time, and what is left to take over if it should happen is less than capable of autonomic breathing. Ron

Or do you figure he'll just be a speechmaking puppet for the non-Clinton wing of the Dem party, with another Veep calling the shots from behind the scenes?

LOL, I have held office........it is a pain in the ass, I have also actually been solicited to advise folks who have held office. I am not sure what the idea here is, Palin will not be vice president because McCain will not be president. Representative system and all that rot, as you say. Can't always have our way. 6

I hate her for the same reason I'd hate any unqualified person running for office. It's fine to be an uneducated on the issues, (AKA, being "middle america kitchen table special needs baby main street maverick family values drill baby drill say it aint so joe-centric") but not if you're going to try to be in charge of the country I live in. Besides, I'm a little annoyed at her insistence that not knowing what she's talking about makes her a "joe six pack." Didn't we just do 8 years of having the "average" guy in the white house? Pass on this broad.

Though I am a Dominant, some might rightly say male chauvinist ( oh god, I just dated myself to the 70's) , I do see thatSarah Palin made it to from mother to mayor to the Governor of Alaska. As my grandfather would say " there are doers and there are talkers" regardless of her sex, she is a "doer". She made change happen. I have worked in Alaska, have relatives in Alaska, and if someone asked me 4 years ago I would say Alaska will be the last state in the union to have a female Governor. My guess would be the year 2035, but she made it and I hear she does a pretty good job at it. She pissed off the whole Republican good ole boy network and the oil companies and still won as a Republican in Alaska. I don't know how she did it, but she did it. I am still wondering why Palin is being demonized for every move, and Joe Biden, with 40 years of experience as a failed political hack who no Democratic wanted in office during the primaries two months ago, is now such a great leader and the press has total amnesia about his dismal record in public service. He is part of the problem in government, not the solution. He is a "talker". Sen. Obama, is an accomplished lawyer-Professor. Why didn't he present these great ideas as bills in the Senate, rather than talk about them as something he would do as President? He is an excellent "talker". If Sen Obama's action in the Senate matched the energy of oratory, I would vote for him with enthusiasm. Alas, talk is free and common, "doing" is the test that is rarely met. Given our limited choices, I think the "doer" is a better bet than the "talkers". Just my 2 cents.
