Tim, knowing you to be an intelligent Man, i would presume and correct me if i am wrong, that you could fathom a possibility that it wasn't meant for you and the indication what it was in reply to was missing since it didn't address anything you said and well it could be you were simply the last person who posted when i hit postreply.

I guess that's to hard to realize in all the years you have posted on this board that it occassionally happens in your desperation to post a smart ass remark.  But i guess in 3 years you haven't learned what most newbies learn pretty quickly the (in reply to) isn't always an accurate reflection of who the reply is for and sometime may just be a fast reply.  I didn't know you were slow Tim.

BTW without your smart ass remark, i probably would have just apologized and said i edited my post.  But why should you have all the fun.

Angel,

Settle down, you are making what I believe to be a reasonable (but purely mordant on your part) case.  That sort of vociferousness (the snips, snails and puppy dog tails, is more commonly a milieu of men)

Learn to laugh a little, it is OK.

Are you talking to me?  Are you talking to me?  You must be talking to me, 'cause I'm the only one here........

Yes rulemylife,

I can see how you would miss the sarcasm, since you seem to be the one who believes well -- someone admitting a mistake openly, trying to fix it and taking the consequences and responsibility is ignoring the mistake.

I would be very interested in where you find your definition for ignoring something because well when you acknowledge it, try and fix it, and take responsibility and the consequences for said mistake -- its not ignoring it in my book.   But i guess we don't read the same books.

Care to take a stab at explaining how that is ignoring?

The problem here is that the window of opportunity was missed by McCain. If he had said last night .. we accept the findings of the Branchflower investigation, but even so, people need to understand the circumstances surrounding the issue and ask themselves, what would you have done given the situation. Palin is not perfect and she probably could have handled things better, but she was frustrated by what she perceived to be inaction. I don't condone the action, but I can't help but understand it and I know that it won't happen again. It was a one-shot. It's really hard to be impartial when it comes to family. Ask yourself how impartial you would be if your parents had been threatened with death, if you were stuck in the middle of this situation. Ask yourself where you would draw the line to prevent the unthinkable from happening. Where you draw the line when fear for the safety of your loved ones overrules any position you may hold in government.

While I find your posts to be usually well-reasoned, there seems to be too much emotion on your part here.

This is a "he said, she said" situation and we don't really know what the truth is.

Ultimately, it does not offer an excuse for her.

There were appropriate ways to handle the situation.  She chose the inappropriate way.

Hi Ron, i don't normally post in this section so maybe i took Tm's sarcasm wrong.  If i did Tim and you were seriously making some joke i missed, then i apologize.  sighs and as for your litany in response lol very manly of you btw, i guess i just never learned to be as concise and short of words as you are or as witty.

But i will do as you suggest, Ron  lol.  I am going shopping.  We don't even know if he believes he made a mistake so until such time i guess its redundant.  i guess i just hope the caliber of the candidates will live up to my expectations.

Raechard, you will see rulemylife's post on the previous page, i can't help what collarme states as the in reply too.  Which is why i VERY CAREFULLY in light of Tim's disgruntlement lol , i made sure i put who iw as replying too.

Mistakes have consequences.

It's nice to believe we can admit and repent and everything will be all better, but that's not reality.

NumberSix -> RE: McCain/______ (10/11/2008 2:18:26 PM)

Yes, it does.

The cloak hall monitors found that getting a little after dinner head, with a cigar was in the void of the american consious, and for that reason was deemed illegal and impeachable.  Insofar as I know, there was no discussion of the cigar.

The best way to change a bad law is to follow it exactly.

I like beef but if you cook it too long it breaks your teeth. You can't go wrong with chicken though, it's never too tough.

Absolutely.

It means the BBC can't find its ass with both hands and you need a new source for news.

so, you stake some piece of ground, and call it the Balfour Declaration?  I knew some Balfours, those great bleedin' angle-worms, who couldn't slither rightfully to the table and speak with futures in mind.

What say you to that, Mr. Ghandi?  you sammie!!!
