I agree with you about the being a way to say its over or not working ... begging for release is a bdsm way of doing a dear john i think personally. It gives a clear line that your not happy and want to end things but in a slightly nicer way. Saying to some i want to be released sounds so much nicer than your dumped!

Suppose with anything someone has said it first others have thought hhmmm that's a good way to do things and its carried on. Bit like a tradition i suppose.

Well that's this girls take on it anyway :)

ok, hated may be harsh. personally i would not end a relationship such as this unless i was truly unhappy, then i would not be begging to be released, i would not give them the chance to stop me. just sounds strange to me to beg to be released.

It sounds strange to a lot of people, which is why the OP was written. Still, it is necessary for others, and those reasons have been explained here in this thread (or attempted to, anyway) - - not to convince that slaves should beg for release, but to give some insight as to why we do, so people who want to understand it, can.
