How interesting that the last line of my post was completely ignored. In reading the article you linked the statement that "90% of blacks are voting for Obama mainly because he is black" was part of an email sent in by a reader! There has been no poll of black voters to find out who they are voting for and why. The writer of the column then did a brief poll of her own and 3 of 4 people she asked are voting for Obama, but state it is due to his policies, not the color of his skin. Also, the title of your thread is "Obama wins because of racism!". I pointed out that even if 90% of blacks voted for him, there would still be an automatic 4 to 1 vote against him due to racist whites. That means the election will be decided by those non-racist whites and other minorities who will vote based on his abilities, not the color of his skin. I don't know why you are arguing that racism will play a part in Obama's win (because you obviously don't have the science to back it up), unless it's because you can't stand to imagine that a black man might be the superior candidate. Now THAT's racism!

Question: The man is half white,does that count? I`ve noticed over my life time that someone who has a mixed race background is usually all ways thought of as the black.Usually never as white or part white. Barack is as much a white man as he is a black man,yet he`s thought of as a black man.Cons go even farther by calling him an Arab,not one of us,"that one " and worse.

The math gets a lot more complicated than what we have so far. First off, seniors vote in the highest percentages, and whites have a longer life expectancy. Then we have the much higher rates of blacks either incarcerated, or on parole and ineligible to vote. If anybody wants to try and factor those in...

This has been GOP strategy since Obama became the clear nominee. They know he is an admirer of Harold Washington, who became mayor of Chicago through a very efffective voter registration drive and get out the vote effort, and that he ran a voter registration drive that got Carol Moseley Braun elected to the Senate. I think the actual point is being missed by many i think it is interesting that in general we never assume the other side of the coin. We assume that whites are racists and everyone else arent i think thats the main pointto be taken from this. It is interesting that so few people mention the other side whether its in politics or employment or whatever it is almost bigoted to assume that only white people can be racist yet it is something so many of us seem to think.

Of course there is an exception here and there, and I see no sense in taking offense if you are an exception. Obama is promising to raise taxes on who he calls "the wealthy" in order to buy votes from the masses. If you are among those who Obama is trying to drive offshore this way then you are indeed among the very wealthy job providers who Obama is threatening, and not among those who he is buying...

Fast reply ~ I'm not sure what the point of this thread is: is it some frustrated white person stomping his foot because he feels the black citizens of this country are voting for the wrong reasons? It's amazing that MadRabbit has spoken to each and every single voter in the United States of America and that he knows what their voting motivations are. Frankly, it's nobody's fucking business what leads to an individual's voting decision, but I will say this: there is a difference between voting for someone, and voting against someone, and whilst MadRabbit stomps in indignation because people will vote for Obama, many white voters will be voting against Obama because of his skin colour. This election is a good thing: get over it.

If we elect a black man because he's a black man, that's a slap in the face. If we elect him because he's the better candidate, then that's a real achievement. A lot of white people are voting for Obama just because he's black... what else is there. He has no real record to run on, and everything he's touched - from his work for ACORN as a Community Organizer to his twenty years at Trinity Church, etc., - has turned to shit.

did anyone hear on the radio the street poll Howard Stern conducted yesterday on a street in NY? he polled 6 to 10 black citizens on the street. They were asked 3 questions: 1)Are you voting for Obama? 2)Do you agree with his pro life beliefs? 3)Are you ok with his running mate, Sarah Palin? each citizen gave the same answer to each question: 1)yes, i am voting for Obama 2)yes, i am pro life as well 3)yes, she will make a great VP now he did this as a joke, but it does prove that some not all people are voting because of race, popularity or some unknown reason! ha!
