kitt

i was using it as a way to explain how i and alot of america come to conclusions.  hard evidence!  just because the murdered body is not right there for all to see, does not mean that the crime was not committed.  the evidence can stand alone to prove the crime.

it is what you call common sense!  after there is such compelling evidence discovered over & over there is an obvious conclusion.

ok Im putting myself on ignore, if only there was a backspace in real life... bestbaby, you called him a baby killer a few weeks ago, where was your desire for truthful substantiated facts back then, this was the post that stood out to me, and im going to not mention any other posts, because I would be here all day. ALso if you havent read the news yet, caylees mother has been charged with murder.

in my eyes anyone that supports the decision to not offer medical attention to a living infant is a murderer.

yes i do know that Caylee's mother has been indicted  and arrested for murder.  the true bill was based on the overwhelming evidence pointing to her guilt even without the body.

Please don't quit when you're ahead: your post above is possibly one of the most terrifyingly entertaining pieces of posting I have ever seen on collarchat.

just as many of your post always settles arguements, debates and discussions[:D]

I want to comment on what qualifies someone to be President. I was born and raised in the US, I am qualified to run for President. Obama was born in the US. That qualifies him to run for President. I am of age to run. What other qualifications do I need. If you do not like who is running do not vote for him. Don't make an ass of yourself by spouting off stupid rhetoric.

I like Frank Zappa`s advice,(and I may be paraphrasing)"If you don`t like who is running, run for office yourself."

I`m not impressed with the "what qualifies" someone for POTUS arguments coming from the right.

In a complete vacuum, looking only at years served or positions held and doing simple(altho fuzzy) math,Obama doesn`t match up.

But in the real world, matching Palin to Obama is a no brainer. If it has to be explained, you won`t understand ,kinda thing.

And matching McCain to Obama(outside of a cold vacuum) is easy.

People doen`t want four more years of Bush policy. It`s really that simple.

And Palin is a scarier, less intelligent but prettier version of George Bush.

Race will have less of a negative impact than cons hope and pray for.

Their policy positions are going to out weigh racial issues.

As with so many things, it's a matter of perception.

At a recent social function, an African-American fellow told me he was voting for Senator Obama because "He understands what it is to be a black man in America".

Not being one that can resist any opportunity to break balls, I responded: "That's incredible! I'm voting for Senator McCain because he understands what it is to be a white man in America!"

For some reason, I'm the racist.

i am an equal opportunity racist....ha!  i know how it is to be a white & black woman in america!

sorry for the edit....i keep hitting the OK button prematurely!

bestbabync -> RE: Obama Wins Because of Racism?! (10/15/2008 8:23:49 AM)

i am bi-racial.....duh!

kittinSol -> RE: Obama Wins Because of Racism?! (10/15/2008 8:24:38 AM)

Just like Barack then?

bestbabync -> RE: Obama Wins Because of Racism?! (10/15/2008 8:26:34 AM)

yes!  my father, black, died when i was 3.  my mother, white, died in 2000.

i was raised in a very racist family on my mother's side.  yes, just like Obama.  only one difference, Obama is racist!  believe it or not, but he is.

kittinSol -> RE: Obama Wins Because of Racism?! (10/15/2008 8:38:01 AM)

Is it possible that you are projecting your own family history unto Obama? Perhaps you have unresolved issues that you need to deal with. Whatever the case may be, my take on things is that Obama will win this election despite the colour of skin, and certainly not because of it, by transcending the barrier of race. There will always be hysteria surrounding historical change such as the one we are going to witness. But in the end, it's for the best, you'll see.

There has been no poll of black voters to find out who they are voting for and why.
Wrong, however, what I found most interesting when trying to search the demographics contained in the polls was the lack of a source willing to document what the plurality is. Rasmussen provided one, but its dated:
quote:

August 9, 2008: McCain leads by nineteen points among White Men and by eight points among White Women. Obama leads 94% to 5% among African-American voters and by twenty-one points among Hispanic voters. Source: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/demographic_notes_2008_presidential_race

I thought it very telling that this was as hard to find as it was. Being a child in the 60's I had to privilege of seeing Martin Luther King lead a march that went right by my school in Trenton. Every class was there, and coming from a school that had no black students and from parents who still were racial biased I stood in wonder of a man who dreamed of a "color-blind society" Now that concept is being trashed by the very people and causes that Reverend King rallied and dedicated his life to obtain. Ultimately leading to him sacrificing that life.

It seems that the media is not willing to confront, or even speak of the possibility of  black racism . Yet were this racial trend obvious or even contributory to a McCain plurality I'm sure they'd rediscover their passion reserved for what is seen as racism by Caucasians. Then again what we are observing regarding Governor Palin tells you that unless a liberal agenda is served you can't be a feminist either. I do appreciate the consistency.

quote:

Redisribution of wealth from rich to poor makes Obama a progressive.
[sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]

That's right, I forgot that giving money from people who are "rich" to people who don't have any qualification for it other than a label of 'poor' is now considered 'progressive'. And what happens when they 'rich' stop starting businesses, don't invest, or cut back existing operations because they don't want to work or invest to serve a 'progressive' agenda?

What is it called if people get exactly what they have earned through work or are deserve from effort?

Not that I'm against some of his 'progressive' ideas. I can't wait for my son, who doesn't pay taxes, gets his $4000 welfare check to attend college, currently he has to work for that spending money - Obama's agenda will remove the need for that effort. With 40% of the people currently paying NO federal income tax, that will leave a small select group to pay the freight for those progressive ideals. A group that has employed people too intelligent to work for the government and has knack of being able to stay one step ahead of any taxation attack. With Senator Obama having a $1 Million per day 'pork spending' habit coming into the job, what says he'll eliminate the PAC agendas that he's beholding to, not to mention the special interests consortium backing him.

It may not be socialist out of the gate, but the only way to pay for it long term is with a socialist take over of businesses forcing them to comply with these 'progressive' ideas. Where are the details of where the money will be generated? Citing the Iraqi War doesn't cut it - and since Senator Obama insured its funding until Spring of 2009, isn't germane to any discussion of 'redistribution' of Federal spending.

One of the main reasons that Corporations shouldn't be bailed out is that they won't be 'buying in' to any 'tax the rich' agenda. Then again, the current socialist move by President Bush to 'invest' in financial institutions (temporary - YEAH RIGHT!) can be used as precedent by President Obama regarding the Food, Energy, Transportation, or any such 'troubled' industry.

I'm not voting for him, but I am looking forward to an Obama presidency. I need the four year vacation from being productive. I'll use the taxation disincentive to not grow and make sure any money generated doesn't meet the 'rich' criteria. Think I'm unique or in the minority of small business owners?

Yup - very 'progressive'. [sm=rofl.gif]

no i have no unresolved issues from my raising as it pertains to my race.  you see when i was a very young woman i realized that i am an american, not black or white.  what matters is my love from and for my family, my happiness and my self worth.  i have all that, love, family and a successful career.  i earned every damn bit of it.  not because of my race but because of my determination and my hardwork.  i do not believe that i should share my success with others below me.  i believe that the others below me should do as i have done all my life, work hard and earn it!

now no matter where i go, i pass and find i am accepted by both black and white people.  yes, i have experienced racism from both sides!  but i will tell you that the racism from black & white is not the same.  neither is more or less.  but one side is more hateful and vendictive.  i am a pretty smart old gal.  i understand what is happening firsthand.  i want no part of it.

bestbabync -> RE: Obama Wins Because of Racism?! (10/15/2008 8:59:52 AM)

oh i forgot!!

a helping hand is needed for many down on their luck, until they succeed at reaching that american dream.  this  is necessary.  i came from a poor family.  i am the first woman in my family to have a career and own my home.  when i was young i did recieve assistance from welfare and i recieved college grants & loans.  once i finished school i got a job, paid back my loans and worked on my career.  that is the american dream.  NOT, send me a monthly check off the back of the hardworking plumbers, carpenters, bankers, fireman and school teachers.

one man one job, one life, and he is worth how much, ? for doing what? working  poor, work just as hard, they lose their jobs , but these crooks keep getting their pockets filled, and everyone blames the poor for being dumb and uneducated even if they have been working for most of their lives. Bloody typical, and perverse, and thats not in a good way.

i have not stated that i believe any of those sorry crooks deserve OUR money!  but your candidate supported the decision to bailout that banker's bank please do not forget.  the bailout bill was passed by votes from both sides of the aisle.

Merc, You're not trying very hard. Gallup has their daily polling broken down by race available every single day. It's two clicks from gallup.com.
