And how do you explain the regular pics of the looming Beetle that pop up throughout ?

While the Beetle turns out to be a suitable vehicle for such a challenge, the Beetle is the presenters' collective least favourite car of all time

Well, at least now you know better! I am very (self) important!

I did call Stalkers R Us to make a complaint with the manager there that my stalker seems to be defective - but I was told that apparently stalkers are meant to be that way, so no return and no refund.

The way they said it "...had to complete the journey in a beetle...." And the look on Hammond's face when his car won't start and the beetle came into view....

And its really obvious they don't like driving the beetle... Everytime it came into view there would be this music...

So the episode was rejoicing the cheap and reliable car and was yet again the Top Gear team poking fun at the ponsy cars driven by wankers. Lesson: the best car might be one you're ashamed to be seen in, but when the budget calls for it, you drive it nonetheless.

But hang on, aren't Top Gear always meant to be lauding cars that no-one can afford ?

I think he might have got the idea from that Monty Python sketch "is this the right room for an argument?"

Either that or he's very lonely (cant think why with those social skills) and craves any human contact, even if only through an internet connection

You cant win talking to him - even if you told everyone what you had for tea last night, he'd maintain you ate something else

Status: offline 		I watch TopGear from time to time, have always found it entertaining and funny. I don't give it much thought as to what they are or are not promoting. Similarly I don't go to a movie watch a car chase and worry about what mental effect that will have on an idiot that drives a car. We can't police entertainment because it becomes non-entertainment. TopGear do make the occasional good point: such as you can't find anywhere to park in London if you drive a Rolls Royce, I'm sick of edutainment I find it patronising because I already know what is wrong with the world.
 
I also watch F1 and?

What I have noticed, and I hadn't detected it earlier, is you like posting threads about Britain. I've called you on the obvious flaws in some of those threads. At times you sound like a BBC news item. Not just the content but the accent as well. The BBC speak in only BBC English, something you never hear anyone in Britain actually use. Same with the thinking of those presenters, they take a BBC viewpoint, often nothing like the reality. They reflect the Britain they want others to believe exists. Your threads have that same flavour. They reference a Britain that has never and will never exist.

Status: offline 		I shall take it as a compliment that our Paul (whose opinion I hold in the high esteem he clearly thinks it deserves of course) believes my writing style to be comparable to that of highly paid BBC writers and journalists. Maybe I should get my CV in?

But if he believes for one moment that I or anyone I know speaks this way..... its all about communicating to an audience that doesnt share the peculiar modes of expression found in this locality; using standard English as the most widely understood and recognised means of communicating with English speakers world wide seems like a good idea. It would be rather odd and parochial to use Black Country dialect after all, and it wouldnt mean a great deal to most Brits, let alone our friends in the US, Canada and elsewhere, including New Zealand.

And whats also odd is that these threads I post that he so loves that he finds it irresistible to comment on them and argue against any point that I or anyone else makes on the subjects raised, are subscribed to also by many of my compatriots - the vast majority of whom rarely seem to find the material presented to be false in itself, even if they might disagree with the initial premise or subsequent development thereof.

So all in all one can only conclude that which has been already concluded in general on the subject of trolling; it is specifically intended to generate attention in any way possible for the troll concerned.
