TD - you will never get anywhere by posting stuff like that!

I mean, it sounded like you had a valid opinion based on valid criteria that could be supported by demonstrable facts.

Have you not been paying attention?

I think the people from Top Gear will be highly amused that their show sparked off such a debate...

Maybe Z, but this isnt actually about Top Gear as such.

Top Gear can do no wrong; it has Richard Hammond

Didn't Hammond ditch his Porsche in a traffic jam so he could get to his daughter's birthday or something??

What a scumbag. Ditching something most of us could never buy...

Lol... I love Hammond. Pity he stopped hosting Brainiac. It wasn't the same without him, and my favourite show too...

Once upon a time, the English took their scum and parked them on battlefields and invited the other side to bowl cannonballs at them.

If this were not so tragically true it would be funny.

Brainiac? You know, I havent seen it in ages - that was a favourite here too (mainly because of the blowing stuff up bits)?

Is it still on? Or is it one of Sky's shows that we dont get anymore 'cause Murdoch is such a fine man?

I don't know. I don't live in Britain lol...

I don't get to see the shows until the local media chooses to import it, so it will be many months late. Brainiac with the new host is currently showing here. And he sucks...

Vic Reeves? Seriously?

He had a short but illustrious career as a comedian over here (though much of the success was owed to his partner Bob IMO)

He wasn't very good in Brainiac IMO. Tries a little too hard sometimes. And Hammond's voice was just more suitable for the "scientific" experiments.

This still makes me laugh: Brainiac electric fence

Thats why birds can sit on cables which are at a much higher voltage than an electrified fence.

Those fences dont produce such a severe shock. He's playing up for the camera.
Thats showbiz folks.

I'm going to be positive here.  I enjoy both the house programmes and top gear.  Fantasy and comedy.  If you can look at them in that way, they are simple light entertainment.  I prefere them to soap.
And yes, GT has been to the UK.

Well MA, most people round the UK would think so, but not really.

I'm right on the edge of the Black Country, in the north of Worcestershire - so if I had to make a guess on whats its like for you, its sort of a mix between Black Country 70%, Birmingham 20% and West Country 10% - really, only people from the conurbation would pick me out as not one of them I'd suppose
