Democrat Barney Frank is on Youtube video this morning in a new interview excerpt talking very candidly about the real Democratic agenda - he's saying that a lot more deficit spending is needed, and the Democrats will hike spending tremendously and tax the rich in order to help pay for it.

Higher taxes in a recession...

If you're not wealthy, prepare to suffer because government doesn't provide jobs, only the wealthy do. Even government jobs!

Not that I agree with all your over the top nonsense...but say it is all true. Where are you going with your money...hell the rest of the world is just as bad as us if not worse.

As for jobs do you think Wall Mart is going to close all its stores... will McDonalds stop making hamburgers in America? Will your neighborhood grocery store move to the Netherlands?

Get a grip...suck it in and open your wallet and stop the whining.

None of my stuff is over the top, you just don't understand it.

And even JFK knew better than to increase spending and raise taxes during an economic downturn, it's very basic. A no-brainer, for people who have even the slightest clue about how things work.

On a serious note here. Where do you propose we all go? Where in the world could we go and live the way we do here in the US? Also keep in mind, a very large chunk of the world hates Americans. So keep it all in mind.

Living the way we are used to. Being safe. A somewhat decent economy so we can afford to purchase what we want.
Where is that exactly?

I do agree with you with getting your money out. Months ago...very early this year I moved all of my stocks to foreign stocks. I've taken a hit but nothing like a lot of people have.

That's not quite true; a very large chunk of the world despises American international policy and think Bush is a buffon; it doesn't follow that they 'hate' Americans. In fact, there is a lot of compassion for Americans in the world today.

I understand that China is garunteenig tax-free investment status for seven years

Just one example.

There are offshore shelters, and far better ways of managing wealth than to give it to Barney Frank's pet Fannie Mae programs... other ways to hide your assets.

I'm not over the top. I haven't made it to base camp yet. What's over the top is a Democrat saying that we need an immediate hike in spending!

Well, I have dual U.S./Irish citizenship so I can live and work in any country in the E.U.
I bet (I) could make Europeans hate Americans again!

I would take a slightly different,more pro-active tact.

I would say to anyone living in the US or anyone who earns money/wealth from the US(owns a business here) must,under penalty of law,keep their assets and money in the US.

If you live here,no tax shelters,no off-shore accounts to hide money,no loopholes for rich people.

If you get to enjoy the fruits of our society,you must keep them here.

The economy serves society,not the other way around.

You don`t get to gain wealth here and use our nation to enrich yourselves and not keep that wealth here,in the US.

I would throw a few millionaires in jail who brake the law and make examples of them.

That should pretty much close the loophole on off-shore accounts to hide money.

It may seem harsh,but then I come from a "very pro-American area of this great nation"

My assets are so well hidden even I can't find them !

Was considering a Canadian bank account actually but I'm not sure how effective of a solution that would be.

Our clan tends to put money into three things. Property, tools and weapons. Actually maybe that's only two because weapons are tools. In fact given a bit of time, weapons might become the most important tools.

Food, beside the canned goods got two refrigerators and a deep freeze. Water shouldn't be a problem with the snow and rainfall around here. Around Y2K time generators hit an all time high, but maybe now is the time to get one, as well as some tanks of propane etc., I know how to rejet a furnace or hot water tank for propane, aaaa, should get some of those jets. While the upstairs furnace is induced draft, there is no way to run it without electricity, but the downstairs furnace is thermopile operated so it will work with nothing but gas. Totally gravity and 80% efficient. The new furnace upstairs might be more efficient with power, but it is 0% effcient without power.

Not that I think interruptions of public utilities is imminent, but it is possuble, and it is also possible that people will not be able to afford to pay the bills. That is a concern of course. Interruptions that are caused naturally, like the delivery mechanism breaking down, might take a bit longer to repair in tough times. Those guys who go out there in inclement weather and repair the infrastructure make quite a bit of money. What happens when the utility companies can't pay ?

I don't think anyone could be completely prepared. Know your neighbors, you might barter some meat for a tank of propane or something like that. That's the silver lining of the dark cloud, people will unglue themselves from the TV or video game and actually talk to one another, and when they start, there is no telling what might happen. That revolution might just come within our grasp and we can then actually throw the bums out. The bums that caused this problem.

It has been argued to me thayt the fed did not cause the current financial crisis, but it did. Once this country started continually operating in debt it set forth a series of reactions and now the results are in. We have a huge shit sandwich and no ketchup.

there are no rich people.

one a person obtains a certain amount of money- they form a holding company. so the person has no liability of they are sued.

one can not expect the US miltary to fight for its assets, then escape payment for services.

And why would you assume other countries would be any different?

any country that has modern conveniences will have taxation.

and if the right was really this concerned why did the right blow off Ron Paul. that Paul would have been thrifty with the public til.

the GOP majorly goofed. the neocons ruined it. you lost thrifty supporters due to the escapades with no bid contracts, endless wars, and medicare part d , no bud rxs.

exactlyt WHOM did you think was going to pay for the 11 trillion $ that we are in the hole for?
