You have made a few good points in the past, but your air of superiority negates my taking you seriously.

So far you have accused me of having no connection reality and saying I have an air of superiority without ever sharing air space with me.. and I am supposed to be the "arrogant" one? The issues I am discussing are not personal attacks against you, so why you choose to make this personal is beyond me. You may not like the way I think and feel about Bush, but he has done things to me and my country that are beyond forgiveness... I have done nothing to you.

Now back to my opinion, George Bush stole Iraq, so is he their "president" too?

I realize that George is seen  as the president of this country,.... but he is not my president. I am sure many felt that Hitler was not their Fuhrer after what he did too.

Actually I reference many as a messiah. Gore is the 'messiah' of global warming. However in this instance with Obama, I was reverencing a tee shirt being sold and worn by his supporters. I thought I'd be indulgent and use the same reference, never claiming that was mine. I guess that one word is worthy of you hanging the rest of the post as plagiaristic? In that case should it be pointed out that 'Julia of Oceania' plagiarizes Orwell?

I find it hard to believe, but I suppose I must believe that you do not watch, read, or otherwise take in any information regarding the presidential election... I concede this point to you.

quote:

The reference to Obama as a socialist is pragmatic. Anyone who takes him for his word and compares his principles to socialism can see the association clearly. Whether he personally identifies himself, or you, as socialist doesn't change the factual similarity of the definition. Obviously I'm not in minority in that belief, but again claimed no exclusivity to assigning the label to him. Just as obvious, based upon the quote below, is you not having a problem with it or even disagree. You have 'no problem'. Well - I do, it doesn't work and is contrary to human behavior.

Obama, Clinton, Bush, and every other president since FDR, all socialists in some way or another. Please provide polling data on whether or not you are a "minority" in what you believe about Obama. I am not into debating my problem, or the lack of one, when it comes to socialism. I just find the repeating of GOP talking points to be funny.

quote:

None of that address anything I posted, but okay, I guess. And regardless of the dreamworld you chose to exist Bush IS the President. Reality is something you should try.

Now you are copying holly's talking points... I will respond the same way, I am not posting here for your good opinion of me. I do not feel and I will never feel that Bush is MY president. He has only fucked our nation in every conceivable way and deceived the masses.

quote:

They weren't quotes they are brackets to connote a name reference as opposed to a statement of fact - he isn't your 'daddy' anymore than he's mine. And yes - I am beth's 'master' - no problem with that with similar connotations.

Is that the way you treat anyone with a Daddy Dom, or just me and Sinergy?

By your logic you cannot be beth's master because slavery is illegal in the united states.

I would ask you, do you agree with the Bush policies, such as wire tapping the American people, preemptive war (really war crimes), and torture? Depriving American citizens of their rights, etc?

If you do agree with him and worship at his altar I can see why the snarkiness and the pettiness.... if not... what the fuck is your point? Do you even have one other than being nasty?

Do i agree? No, i do not.

I will go one step farther and say i do not agree that he won the election.

However...it was George W. that was sworn in (twice!). It is George W. that lives in the white house. It is George W. that holds the title of President of the United States. Just because i do not agree with him does not negate the fact that he holds that title.

If i were to deny it i would certainly need to be told to remove my head from my ass and deal with reality.

Cory, no worries.
I'm a "Lou Dobbs Populist" Independant voter who doesn't like Republicans or Democrats so I get it from BOTH sides! lol
I don't think there are "either, or" positions but a bunch of positions that you can have.
I think "Republican" or "Democrat" positions are too limiting and *closed minded.*
There are good things about each but bad things too.
I'm really surprised that we only have (2) two major political parties in a country as advanced as the U.S.!
I'll be voting for the Constitution Party in November, Chuck Baldwin for president just to send a message to those bastards in Washington.
One thing is for sure, we can blame 100% of our problems on Democrats and Republicans!
Oh, I believe in *FREE SPEECH* so as far as I'm concerned you can say whatever you want politically.
Anyone else can too.

popeye...I do understand your thinking to a point...but..why not work towards a third party..say on the local or state level...maybe even a representitive for now. But in the booth vote for the better of two evils at the national level...It makes no sense to throw your vote away and It will make NO difference to established political parties if you do.

All you do is become irrelevant.

I'm not preaching I just hate to see someone with good ideas have no influence, no matter how small, on the world around them.

Why, do you see yourself becoming an apologist for those three and their policies, Rich?

No need for that, Sanity.  Accepting the outcome of the election, maintaining some respect for the office, and not being tolerant of partisan hate rhetoric should be more than sufficient.

I hope this is close enough to where the thread was moving...

A few months ago, it was completely the opposite and the balance tilted in favour of conservatives ... by something resembling five to one.

At the highest peak, Kitten, it might have been 2 R's to 3 D's (and if anybody wants to go count, have fun).  You might have found yourself in a dogpile here and there at 5/1, but that was hardly the rule.

Besides, we're just lulling you into a sense of false security.
