ORIGINAL: OhDaddyILuvYou Gosh.... I have to wonder.... have all the Palin bashers even read the wikipedia entry about her, or are they just piling on? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_palin She actually has a decent track record. I admit she is not a "smooth" or "slick" a speaker as we are accustomed to, but should that *really* be the way we judge a potential executive... or maybe judge by their past performance? Uh..... Let me say first of all that no person (except maybe Cheney, the self proclaimed Dark Lord) does all good or all bad when serving in office. Having stated that: Are you talking about how great of a job she did in charging rape victims, in the state with the highest rape stats in the country, btw, for the cost of the kit it takes for law enforcement to investigate and prosecute the rapist? Are you talking about the $20,000,000 dollar debt she left when she left her mayoral position in Wasilla, the meth capital of Alaska, population at the time of her mayorship less than 5,000 citizens, smaller than most of my local high schools, (including a $50,000 unauthorized expenditure to redecorate her office and a huge ice skating rink, for which there is now another investigation to see whether the fact that the same contractors who built that rink helped build her house...sort of like Ted Stevens... the guy she lately condemned for ethics problems)? Are you talking about the great job she did in wrongly charging the State of Alaska for over $20,000 of travel expenses for her kids to attend fun events with her (these are the ones she was NOT allowed to charge the government, not the ones that went through), like going to daddy's snow mobile races? Are you perhaps referencing the great, mavericky job she did in appointing her her unqualified, high school girl friends to high political jobs (a la Heckuva Job Brownie) to ensure loyalty within her inner circle (she learned the importance of firing upstarts who are not 100% in compliance with her wishes and greatness back in Wasilla... remember the librarian...)? Maybe you are talking about the wonderful job she did in incurring the official state announcement by a by partisan committee (actually there were more republicans than democrats and the investigation was prompted by her own party members...way before she was put on the vp ticket) that found she had violated state ethics laws by using her position to intimidate subordinates into doing her will in a personal vendetta (and do not get side tracked with the line that as Gov, she is allowed to fire whomever she wants. That is absolutely true, and does not change, mitigate or really have anything to do with the separate charge of the ethics censure.) Is that what you are talking about when you say we persecute Sarah Palin who was a great Governor, according to Wikipedia? Maybe it is just the glamor cast by the witch doctor, keeping your eyes bedazzled by the denouncing of witches and shooing the evil demons off of ya (yea... she did that too..), which keeps you thinking she is a brand new, super clean, upstanding, super productive and capable maverick of an 'Executive'? ...and actually, I think that the one thing she DOES have going for her is that she IS a smooth and slick speaker... painfully ignorant 9 times out of 10 but still very slick and effective.
