Well, apparently there is some question of the legality of using donor monies for personal purchases (FEC laws), and to have bought the kids and the first dude clothes as well is pretty questionable. Remember the problem with Nancy Reagan (who had clothes given to her) and having the issue with having to pay the taxes on them.. and those were GIVEN to her...so who knows...

I know we chatted about this a bit in this thread so I thought I would toss this link into a post for another (rueful) chuckle... apparantly Sarah's tastes have now changed to the more 'elite'; they had wardrobe problems when she was on SNL because she wanted to wear pricier clothes than the costumes they provided. McCain has now come out and said the clothing was going to be donated to charity after the election. I can't imagine that was the plan until the uproar occured. [8\|] By contrast, there's a photo of Obama on Utube with holes in the souls of his shoes. Wonder if Palin would donate a new pair of Adidas to him?

It's a him... actually her personal shopper is the same guy who is the starring voice role in the robo calls.... hehe they must have realized they spent so much on her clothes they didn't have enough to pay for a professional so threw the shopper on the recorder!
