I am not allowed to start a sentence with "no." "Please, no" is acceptable, though.

And what of people who derail threads by inserting snippy and insulting remarks? Is that an effective communication form? Does it add substance to the conversation or does it "change the whole tenor of a conversation?"

To the OP, with my former owner I was not to call him by name, and I was not to berate myself. Misuse of grammar or incorrect use of words were always corrected, as well. "I'm doing good," for example, would never go uncorrected.

miss thing? LOL. Hmm, that doesn't reflect snippiness...

But to answer your question, I thought your original comment about IB's spelling was rude. I used the word "snippy" because I thought it was a nicer word than "rude."

"Whatever" isn't BANNED but it's sure to get a negative reaction out of me instantly.

"Going to go" is not grammatically incorrect (depending on how it's used, of course).

And, like most of the other posters, I've never heard "congrashulations." I dislike "gro-shrees" for "groceries" and "sud-jest" for "suggest," but I wouldn't BAN them.

my girls are not allowed to say "your welcome" they respond with saying "my pleasure" instead

otherwise.. can't think of anything else.

I had forgotten about "I don't know." That was an unacceptable answer, in my case.

Hmmm....Well, Iron Bear, my answers will more than likely come as no surprise to You... The one's to typically get me into trouble are when directed at myself: dumb, dumbass, cow, stupid, loser, fat cow, and the list could go on forever.
The one that i'm no longer permitted to use as an automatic response is, "i'm sorry". For the longest time it was an automatic response to most comments directed my way.

"Ok" is not permitted to be said and as far as writing, neither "chatspeak" nor abbreviations are permitted. It reeks of "lazy slave". There are a lot more positive rules (as in DO this) rather than negative (as in DON'T do this) that are set at this house.

As far as "going to go" with respect, it is in fact quite grammatically correct. {Be verb + going to + base infinitive} is one of several methods used to denote future tense. "We are going to visit my family for Christmast" denotes a plan to visit somewhere in the future. It is an acceptable term in English as well as in other languages ("Voy a ir" (voy and ir being "go" verbs) has the same meaning in Spanish "I'm going to go"). Similar to "have to have" {aux verb have/has + to + base infinitive verb}so as to denote "must" or "should" plus the action or the "don't do" as noted above is a similar pattern), perhaps it is the alliteration and repetition of the same words that may be grinding on your nerves.

The important thing, though, is that the ones that are yours follow your rules for whatever reason you have them.

Okay, "fix`in and fit'in" need to be banned from the WORLD lol. OMG I never honestly expected words to be able to be nails on the chalkboard to me until i came to Tennessee and heard them lol. If people want to sound completely hillbilly and uneducated, those are two words to learn. My other favorite is my girlfriend down here always uses the word carry instead of bring -- i'm going to carry so and so home. I will carry the grocery's home. I aways ask her if things get heavy for her.

But to be fair lol they hate when i say gonna and pop.

Starting or answering with "No". *Which I have been sorely remiss on the past two days....
Forgetting to respond after a thank you or comment with 'Sir' soon enough. He just recently told me he does not like it when I use his given name that often, so adjustments will be made. He's worth it
