When I lived down South many moons ago, I was asked out with the use of this phrase,

"I'm fixin' on carryin' y'all to dinner."

This little NY girl looked at him with the strangest expression for a good minute while she translated it into English. Why would he think he could carry me? How strong is his back? What is he fixin'? I didn't realize I had been asked out.

*****on topic*****

Sir does not allow me to say "OK." He feels this is a throwaway and a sign that the listener is not giving full attention. I may say "alright" when casually agreeing and only "Yes, Sir" when taking direction.

Now that's just embarassing, speaking as a southerner

Grammatically the one that just drives me NUTS is using "at" to finish every sentence. Like "Where's it at?" instead of "Where is it?"

Otherwise, like many have mentioned, my slave is not allowed to put herself down or belittle her herself.

My father used to (repeatedly) tell this joke about a guy at work who asked the boss, "Where's that file at?" The boss answered, "You shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition." So the guy said, "OK...where's it at, asshole?"

But yeah, that bugs me, too.

Odd phrases....
"You want yo sandwich dress?"     New Orleans... do you want that with lettuce, tomato, and mayo?
"Time to run up the kitchen."          Ohio... time to clean up after dinner.
"Stinkeye my woman I break you"  Hawaii... Quit staring at my girlfriend.  .. was actually staring at the elaborate tribal tattoos
"Murfle mobble mwo wmwow"       U.S.  ... heard at many drive through food service establishments.  I think it means "May I take your order" but could mean "I want to put corrosive cleaner in your groin"

The big one banned in my house is "I'm not good enough..."  If I didn't think you were, you would not be here.

I'm not sure why this word and other words like it and "no" in certain instances would be included in this list,  would need to be baned.  To me is show a complete lack of respect.  Those types of words have don't belong in any relationship.

I was raised in a home that when Dad said jump  your reply was how high.

I do not think I specifially said to any of my slaves "Those words are banned" but rather something to the effect of what the correct response is. I agree they have no place in a relationship, especially a M/s or D/s but in society they are common phrases and accepted.

My response was in regard to Ironbear post.  I agree that they are accepted,  however not in my little world.  My kids knew by "instinct" not to use those words around me.

Racial slurs are not acceptable with me in any relationship.  We try not to disucuss politics we are very different in ethic values.   Religion is something we do not talk about much either.

The one phrase I rarely use is "I'm disappointed in you." It has such a profound effect that in our eight years together I have only said it once and it brought instant uncontrolable tears. We refer to it as the "d" word.
