Various reasons:

They periodically run searches and then have a look at the results. They don't necessarily remember which ones they've already seen, so if your profile happens to fall within their search criteria, they check your profile out again.

They see you post on the forums or in chat, and click on your screenname, to see your profile. They may be checking different things about your profile, at different times, or again, they may not remember having looked at it before.

Once they read your profile, maybe they realize that there's some reason you wouldn't be a good match for them. Maybe they were just curious about your profile, but didn't intend to write or just don't have anything to say, at the moment. Maybe they are interested, but hope that you will, in turn, check them out, and that you'll write them.

Speaking for me , i have only one friend who i rarely meet and loneliness is a constant companion, i think a lot of guys are lonely and feel out of place in today's society, its nothing personal against You Ma'am, guys in some cases dont know how to speak to Women , are afraid if they say the wrong thing or offend Her and so the safest thing is just to look and admire from a distance the person they will never meet, ie a Woman companion or even a companion of any sort in some cases. Women are also attractive to look at to guys and girls too

this is something i do entirely by accident to those i interact with in threads ... from time to time its necessary to remind myself who in fact Im flirting with on a thread * Grins *

its quite possibly considering the quite nice pics on your profile that the ummm ... less savory reasons for constant views are valid but you may wish to stick with * cause i constantly say things they find enjoyable / entertaining ... and each time they view me they are working up the courage to cmail me *

It seems at times when I get someone repeatedly in my box that is similar to them cutting eyes at me. They may eventually send mail but if they dont I dont care, it is harmless.

If you have a journal, maybe they are popping in to read it.

Or maybe if you do or dont have a photo, they are checking the distance or the stats on your profile. Seeing how far away, espcially if they are people that constantly move.

They may not be in a position to write...BUT...would you only look at a piece of art once...just because you would never own it?

I know I will never own the Mona Lisa but I would love to look at it more than once.
