I'm self-employed in theatre... I'm 'out', even the old biddies living down the street know I'm kinky. Nobody bats an eyelid. I'm also very private as a person. Knowing I'm kinky is about as much as people know and about as much they need to know.

For those who work, do you fear that your employer may find your picture on a website such as Collarme? Many employers are now actively searching Myspace and Facebook type websites search for their employees and any inappropriate behavior.

For me this is a real fear. I have a very nice job and I love what I do and my career is very well established. I simply cannot afford to put my picture on my profile. I am not willing to risk my job, career and retirement over having a picture on my profile.
I am more than will to share a photo with a potential Domme if we have similar likes but I simply cannot afford to take the risk of having a photo my employer may find on Collarme.

I would be intrested in hearing other's opinions on the matter especially those in professional occupations.

Master is going to make it so mine and my slave sisters identities are disguised so that we can have pictures but not really be identified.

It seems to us that it is a matter of ones priorities.... if living bdsm as a way of life is critical to being congruent with yourself and fulfilled in your life than you'll probably chose work  that allows you to do that. Admittedly it is easier to be out when retired like we are but we lived "out" for 20 years as a bdsm couple and both had professional careers.... any lost business was just a cost of living our lives as we needed to.

I can understand the issue with this if O/one works in a profession dealing with children, a lot of people have pre conceived ideas of what this lifestyle involves, but in all fairness, what someone does in their own time shouldn't have anything to do with the employer, once the actions of the employee start to affect how H/he or S/she works, acts at work etc then yes I think the employer has the right to maybe raise questions.
