My Lady Constanze, i am impressed, most guys dont have two words of irish and thats irish guys, ask them to say anything in irish and they would look you as if you had two heads, despite the fact that they spent 14 years learning the language, yet You, a non Irish person, have knowledge of the language. thats impressive

Got everything but the last word Constanze ... im guessing its either ... yeah never mind not mentioning my guesses in public :P

anyways for those who dont speak Irish the translation would be .. "My Pants are ?????"

and since when would slap/beat/whip be something that id want to stop ?

Wouldn't that be, "speaks Gaelic"? I had an Irish roommate for a while and he could speak it. And he HATED to be asked to say, "They're always after me lucky charms." LOL (No, I never asked him to. I just made him read me Gaelic poetry.)

Gealige ( spelling Kevin ?? Chains ?? ) is how the irish language is writtian IN irish ... but we always said just Irish for school

I wish I had 1000 good things (sorry, my Gaelic is absolutely rusty, I assume that was what you meant), I just remember a few phrases. One of my degrees is from Trinity, hence I'm a bit familiar with Ireland (at least Dublin and no, couldn't afford to live in D4), I always considered it simply polite to at least try to learn the language of any country I lived in, at the time I considered Gaelic the most difficult language, then I lived a while in Wales and apart, from a few phrases never really got anywhere. That darned LL sound is just really weird.

Actually you are not in the way that they are all Celtic languages and somewhat related, but Irish and Scottish Gaelic are fairly close while Welsh and Cornish seem to have hardly anything in common with Irish or Scottish Gaelic. I remember vaguely that Welsh and Cornish (and Cumbric I think) are Brythonic languages. It's been a few years so I'm not 100% sure.

BTW You never did tell us what the last word in your little sentance meant. infortunitly im at my apartment rather than visiting mother the teachers house so there is no irish/englosh dictionary in sight.. and ive yet to find an accurate irish translation site online

Ah yeah, it is considered disrespectful to behave in an excessively familiar way with strangers. You don't walk up to a stranger in grab her butt, and if you're really couth, you don't call a lady honey, unless she is your lady, and likes that term of endearment. M
