Recently i had a really interesting cmail. It was from a Dominant who claims he runs a 'slave ring'. He was basically saying he thought i had what it took to be put on the block and sold and would i like the chance.

Being sold into slavery is a big 'fantasy' of mine. Bare in mind that i class a fantasy as something i would not / could not do. But still curiosity got the better of me and i asked for more details.

He came back to me with a few options. I could take a lifetime contract or two to five years with options to renew. Half the money i was sold for would be placed into my bank account for when my service ended.

Training wise i could be assessed and sold with the skills i already have. I could be trained by the Dom who had contacted me to raise my value, or i could be sold and then go back to the Dom who had sold me for specific training requested by my purchaser.

Considering what i said earlier about it being a fantasy and not possible for me i let the conversation end there. Truthfully if i did not have a UM who i would not be able to just leave behind, i would have considered being sold a lot more seriously by now.

I know there are a whole host of issues that could be raised with being sold into slavery. I know it definately would not be everyones cup of tea, understatement perhaps? However i'm curious to others views on this subject bad and good. Every fancied being sold yourself? Ever fancied buying a slave? Is it just to close to something out of a novel for you? Any other thoughts?

My first thought is 'What kind of money are we talking about here?'

Its been a fantasy of mine as well, and one I consider to be unfillable.

Whenever I read erotica, I always jump at the word "auction". However, its only in fiction, and in real life, reason always gets in the way *sign*

It will be hard to trust somebody like that. And I don't think anyone actually does this for real anyway...

That was my question too. He reckoned anything from $20,000 upwards depending on skills, looks and other things. Consider a two year contract though on $20,000, my share would be $10,000. Thats only $5,000 a year, pittance if you ask me.
My share would have to be at least $60,000 a year to make it anywhere near worthwhile which would make my minimum price $240,000 for a two year contract.

Okay I have to chime in here :) I definitely see the fantasy appeal to owning a real slave and I can see the appeal from the other side as well. That being said human trafficking is a real problem not only abroad but in the US as well. My fear is that you would be sold into slavery and bought not by some fantasy fairy tale dominant but by someone who wanted to use you, abuse you, and make money off of you. I would imagine being forced to prostitute probably isn't part of the fantasy. Anyways I guess my point is that some things are meant to stay in fantasy because it is just too dangerous. I do totally see the appeal though and can't blame you for that :)

I can definitely see the appeal as a fantasy and it is a fantasy of mine, but not one I'd want to turn to reality. Maybe as an extended scene though it'd be pretty hot, I think.

Not a fantasy of mine either, since for me i need an emotional connection to serve someone completely. I would assume to be sold as a slave you have to serve whoever bought you completely. What happens if the person who bought you wasn't fantasy material? Even with a two year contract, you will still have to fulfill your obligation to that Dominant.

Well, you probably could do it for real, but not for an extended amount of time. In the SCA, there's the biggest event/war in PA, and there there is a 'slave auction' in which you buy the 'slave' for one task, e.g. wash the dishes, clean the armor, ect. and proceeds went to charity.

If you had a large enough BDSM community or gathering like the proposed CM camp at Burning Man in 2010 or Folsom Street Fair (btw is on my bucket list) a sub/slave could be sold for a night or a scene and any limitations (No sex, hard limits) would be established as part of the proceeding or individually per slave. Proceeds could be given or split with the sub or donated to a worthy cause. *edited to add* The slave can always back out if he/she didn't feel safe, or for any other reason. But within an established community, Most folks would know each other. Barring that, a slave's intended can always up the bid.

So it can be done...

Do I have a bid on a lovely brunette in chains called Misstubation? Do I hear $500?
Next on the block will be GT.

I do see the appeal as a fantasy, but definately not something I could ever realy do. As Mistroferin said I could not serve a dominant that I did not have a personal connection with. My service comes from trust and respect. I could not do it just because someone had paid for it.

In all honesty it sounds like a fun game but I would worry about the home you would end up in.

When I was part of a Gorean Homestone We did a Slave Auction for a weekend. We were gunna make it an annual thing but it ended so poorly the first time with girls crying and Dom's trying to get them to clean the house nekkid and all the other perversions that as you put Reality was not as fun as the Fantasy that it never happened again.

Not for a day, not for an hour. There simply is not an amount of money that would supercede the value I place on myself. But now you've gone in a different direction that made me look at it a different way. To enter into something like this with the hopes of finding an emotional connection or love...well, to me that is even more fantasy. Yeah, it happened in "Pretty Woman" but I certainly wouldn't be risking my self respect on it happening. Much more likely is that you'd be sucking off some greasy pig of a man who didn't care any more about you than the tissue paper he wipes his ass with. $20,000, $50,000.....a million.....I'm pretty sure he'd be taking what he felt was his money's worth. Nope, not for even a second.
