I have an opinion on this matter.... Most guys grow up physically, but mentally to about the 16 year old mark, complete with angst. Then they go to college, join a frat, and the mob mentality regresses them to about 13. Then the drinking starts and they regress again to about 11. And the real world hits them and they realize they are responsible for their own actions, nor can they 'have it all' like they did when they were in high school and in the frat, and they regress again to a precocious 5. Which leads to the 'sour grapes' attitude. They were the popular kids, the jocks, the musicians, and the types that 13 year old girls throw themselves at. Add to that a very healthy dose of 'entitlement', and you have the modern male who whines and complains acting like a 5 year old, complete with the childish comebacks. They've never had to deal with failure, and was always told its 'not their fault. However, there are those very far and few between who actually do 'grow up', and can handle rejection.
