For some people, it is. But I don't think they get that idea from the porn. I think it's the other way around. The porn-makers are producing what they think a lot of guys want.

I find that type of porn boring. There was a recent thread about femdom porn written for femdoms that addresses this issue pretty well.

That being said...my husband/slave of 8yrs isn't tall and muscular...but he can make me laugh and can hold his own in any conversation. Worth more than all the muscles in the world.

We all are attracted to what body type we are attracted to. I personally don't see anything wrong with that at all. But, the notion that anyone can dominate someone who is not big, strong, and very masculine, which seems to be what is suggested, would be inaccurate. And for what it's worth, you don't exactly look like a weed.  I see some brawn in those there arms.

But I agree, just because something is my preference, doesn't mean it's required. And if it comes down to choosing, I would rather my sub be engaging and able to carry on a conversatioon at least, if he cannot carry me. (thank you again Lockit for that image)

I've actually seen that quite a bit.  It's far from the most popular stereotype, but I'd say it's somewhere in the top 5.

You see leftovers from my football/weight training days in High School. :-p

Of course, I do plan on becoming a touch more toned in the coming months.  I just don't plan on going -very- far with it.  I like a natural softness with just a hint of muscularity.

That being said, not all slender men are wimpy...not all muscular men are stupid.  The truth of the matter is that most people are just average and don't veer too far towards one extreme or the other.  And there's a lot of beauty in that.

That only big burly men are worth dominating? That slender men are doormats? That slender men are 'shrimpy wimps'? ;) Lol. I know you didn't intend to :) but it's the same kind of thing. I doubt it's an intentional thing on behalf of the porn promoters, they are just appealing their market. It's basically a misunderstanding by the producers that submission equals weakness. A lot of the producers that make it haven't got a clue, and have no personal experience within BDSM culture, it's just a market to them. Stereotypes suck generally, and leave a lot of misunderstanding. It's a pretty lazy way to get to grips with and define someone or a particularly demographic.


But I do hear you about the quality of 'femdom' porn, it's one of my pet peeves. It is truly diabolical, but it is unintentionally funny, so at least I have managed to get some kick out of it. A common theme I've seen, and one of the things that I find funny is that you'll see some barbiedoll showing utter contempt for some guy, and be doing cruel devilish things, humiliating him, treating him like a worm... but then she'll miraculously start sucking his cock, AND at the end of it all, still have no orgasm of her own – fucked up much? I mean seriously, am I supposed to enjoy portrayals of my sexuality that seems to characterize all guys who are like me as weak and undesireable? When I say weak, I don't mean just physically but in character as well. Most of the femdom / male sub porn out there turns me right off. It has gotten me to the point now where I rarely ever look at porn, and I'm becoming much less visual in my fantasies. Rather than thinking of something that I'd like to experience, I think of my emotional response to that experience. For that matter, I'm not all that sure that I don't prefer a strong mind and a strong heart over a strong body anyway.  I've seen plenty of men who were built like an ox...and had the brains to match.  Physical strength is sexy, but without wit it's pretty meaningless.

It's the seeming overwhelming sterotype on FemDom porn protraying them as skinny little boys without a backbone, who get a bit of slapped around , then get fucked by the Domme in the fetish attire that I was grousing about!

I don't enjoy the other extreme of over muscled hulks either. Rather find a nice balance of physical and mental appeal. Bearing in mind we all have our own tastes, I was commenting about the way we as Dommes are protrayed in the movies offered.
