In a recent post it was said that the words implied were used when a sub expressed some concerns to a new potential Dom.  I admit that the dom winds up being a domASS in this case.

Many of the respondents said that using those words would be a end to the relationship.  So I wonder..

A couple is sitting somewhere, you pick the place.  They may have just had dinner or watched a movie or whatever.  The sub is talking maybe it's about the weather, the plans for tomorrow, maybe about her period, who knows.  The Dom reaches over, grabs a handfull of hair and says, "shut the f#$% up and get over here!"

What's the reaction then?

That depends on a variety of factors.
It could go either way.

OMG - I have to say, it's one of my favourite phrases when used in play.

"Please Sir, don't hurt me any more"

"Shut the fuck up!"

**melts**

Any other time though, and it wouldn't be so warmly (or moistly!) received...

If it is done out of disrespect, then game over. I have never found vulgarity appealing and its not even a remote turn on for me. Though I guess for some it could be a turn on to be cussed at. You catch a lot more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

I've always considered that phrase to be more turn-on that deal breaker, from either end.  If I am very stressed out, I may scream "Shut the F#uck Up!" at my dominant, and I would expect them to be able to come back with something creative to either make me laugh or to put me back in my place.  Hell, grab me and whisper, "No, YOU shut up" and I will
Also, I agree with it being very moistly received if my dominant tells me to do so

Are you asking about the reaction from the parties involved or from people who may be witness to it?

From my slave?  Most likely "Yes, Sir".

For me, it would depend upon where we were, how loudly it was said, if I was just prattling on and on...

It's all in the context. Can be very hot, or damaging, depending on the relationship and circumstances.

I agree with mummyman321.
The use of vulgarity other than the acceptable is derogatory and demeaning. If others get off on such, that is their choice.

For me a simple gesture, like the touch of finger to my lips or simply the look of displeasure and this girl would simply melt into submission.
I have been grabbed by the hair and dragged about like a sack of potatoes. The act is not simply to cause pain, but to actually hurt and if not done properly can do serious harm.

Me thinks that in either case, it's a matter of using some discretion in the use of language which may not be appropriate in some situations. It is one thing to use crude language such as "fuck" "cunt" asshole" or what ever in the context of personal interaction with a partner in a private type setting. It's a different story when in  a setting where other bystanders happen to here this and are subject to language and/or actions that may be inappropriate. I don't believe I need to subject others to a type of behavior which is out of context to that particular situation. I see the situation that determines the appropriate type of behavior that could be used.

If it were me in the scenario; I’d be thinking, “Oh god, what did I do to make him so ‘unhappy’”

Though I should note, his doing that would not be the end of the relationship, but it could indicate the end of my sitting for awhile.

for me it would depend entirely n the tone of voice.   If it were growled at me in a low, sexy voice, knowing that it indicated a prelude to play, I'd melt.

BUT if it was said in a normal tone, and even HINTED at a dismissal of my words/thoughts/feelings etc...  I'd be gone, if not for good, at least for a while.

Not too long ago I was in a car with a girl who was out of control and throwing a tantrum -- I told her once to shut up and she started to escalate so I looked her dead in the eye and calmly but with some menace in my voice told her to shut the fuck up, and that worked. She sulked for the rest of the evening, which was fine by me, and then she was back to normal the next day.

Hell. It sounds like a typical interaction at the local hillbilly bar to me.

"Shut the fuck up!"

"Fuck off you stupid cocksucker!"

"Kiss my ass motherfucker!"

"Bring that ass over here bitch!"

"Oh, fuck you!"

All, melodic, lilting words of love in Hillbillyville.......

It would totally depend on the context of the situation. Who else is around, what have we been discussing, how he says it...

That being said, one of my favorite fantasies involves a man pulling my hair, growling in my ear to shut the f*ck up and don't make a sound while he's using me....

I'm with you GT, about making my self scarce for a while.
But if I am not allowed to leave the confines, I would probably find a closet, my room (if I have one) or my cage (if I have one) and lock my self in.
Pulling one's hair I have found to be the prelude to a nasty beating, which of course for words/feelings/thoughts shared is a lousy reason to beat on someone.

Generally speaking I immagine that it will depend on how the words were said (in anger ot in jest), and if it was the slave saying it, if the expression or those words were prohibited or not. Personally, I don't like it and will not use or allow it to be used in my home or in my presence no matter who says it.

It would depend upon the context the words were used in, the situation we were in, exactly what was going on, the tone and sound of His voice when He said it.   It wouldn't be the end of the relationship, but it would certainly set the tone for what happens next.    It is one of those phrases that can very easily make me melt ... or know that I am walking a thin line.

It would really depend on the location and what I was talking about. He has done that and it always turns me on when he does it because I don't feel dismissed, just that he wanted me to be quiet for awhile. But this is a man whose favorite party trick is to bite my neck till I can't stand.
