I asked my Domme how she got Her name
and Her response was that She has always been a Lady, and Her name is Bridgette. Hence the name LadyB.[:D]

Mine was easy I've Never been nilla a day in my life I was just born this way, I had to drop the e out of it when I got back on line because my old acct on yahoo had overflowed so bad I couldnt get in to it. lol this may be off subject a bit butt does any one know about this " Old Guard " group? My name came from an experience with whips and floggers as i lay on a bedspread made of crushed velvet...the tears that fell onto the velvet that day had me thinking velvet tears and so..have gone with that ever since :)

A friend once decided I needed a Domme name. Definately in her hopes that I would Domme her LOL! Anyway, I came across this and fell in love:

Well how can one resist a name like that?? Megaera was chosen of the three for its unique spelling, the fact that she's stubborn, and that the name can be abbreviated so easily. I've had the name for years and years now.

Hawkins is one of my middle names; I owe it to a supposed ancestor, Sir John Hawkins, who was an Elizabethan privateer and slaver.

I am Chris Green in real-life, and in real-life I am also in BDSM, I am the same person, so why on earth should I change my name?

What a ridiculous idea!

I appreciate that not everyone is in my position, or, indeed, confident enough to just be themselves in all situations from private life through to the very public world of the Company Boardroom.

As to what Norms or anyone else thinks of my lifestyle, well to quote the last line of a well known film and book, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!" (hint - the writer only wrote one book, initials MM).

I chose my name several yrs ago when I first started going on-line. It's got nothing to do with BDSM as I post on a variety of sites. It relates back to when I used to keep mice, I called them after their breed type and my favourite was my Brindle....so I decided to use it on-line. I quite like the fact that it's neutral in pretty much any arena and is not significantly male or female.

After reading through most of the responses, can't say that my nick here is anything special. It's a variation of what I use every where's else. Lady (Because I'm a Lady), Lyn is short for My first name, Linda and Kaye is My middle name.... so we have LdyLynKaye.

I new here, and I chose susannah and left it lower case because I am a sub. My birth name is Suzanne and my family calls me Suzie, but there is already a "Slave Suzie Q." - so names for subs and slaves obviously don't need to be lower case but I can "build on it" if I decide to change it.

I also chose susannah and not another name because, even though I know I probably could have been more descriptive of my sub status (and I need to get an avatar, too), I am so new - little real-time experience (that's changing for me now, thank goodness) that I didn't want to portray myself as anything that might be mis-construed, because I think I'll "get to know" people in this forum on-line via conversation anyway.

I appreciate the cute ways people portray their personalities in this forum, though thier nicks, avatars and profiles - some are so creative. I think that is eye-catching and many are in this forum to find a partner (which they can also state in their profiles). I have one, and am "not looking"and I didn't want to portray myself as anything that might be too "eye-catching" (it's an unusual situation, but am here for friendship and to learn only, and it's working). I think people probably occasionally change "what they are looking for" - and if they do it can help 'em maybe to change their profile and avatar, and on-line nick. -susannah

*smiles* Just to let you know, your name has always reminded me of On A Pale Horse. It is nice to know you actually took it from there. That book was a major help to me after my fiancee and mother passed away within a year of each other.
