Funny how the liberal platform of class not meaning better than falls instantly into the class is important when it suits their cause.

Hillbilly slurs flinging wildly while if anyone slured a protected class they would be on the phone to the ACLU in about .00000000000001 seconds.

How many times did she call her opponents names?

There was the socialist one.

There was the elitist one.

There was the "redistribution" one.(is that eve a real word?lol)

And worse.And every day.

Then she plays the fem fatale, looking for sympathy?Oh really?

When asked if she considered herself a feminist(a good question),her phony reply was to say she didn`t label people.Didn`t like "labels" or "labeling".Only evil labelers do that stuff.

Didn`t she frick`n know that there was tape of her calling people names? That this is the internet age with TV and replay button and all?

For me she lost all respect when she kept repeating the same stupid silly fibs about the bridge to nowhere(tanks, but no tanks, lol),firing the private chief(didn`t happen),and that she sold the jet on ebay over and over and over.

Are people going to chide the media for calling her on her BS?

Palin scared the hell out of the liberal media and they had to destroy her...she is conservative, pro life, and damn attractive, and adored by the republican core....a real danger to not only libs but dusty old republican pols that deserted sound, small-government principles and raped the public treasury almost as good as the democrat party.

Are you kidding? If she was such a danger, she wouldn't have imploded as loudly as she did [:D] . Danger, my arse rofl!

And the poncy wimpy pinko weak-ass libewal media wouldn't have been able to make a dent in her iron-like exterior (turned out she was merely aluminium plated).

Nah... Palin's a good looking woman with a crazy political streak. And it's the crazyness that put people off: perhaps it hurts your feelings, because you obviously like her a lot (we all have our vices), but I agree that facts can be painful at times.

I assume you must have been watching CNN, MSNBC, FOXNews, ABC, CBS, NBC et al...with the sound turned off during the campaign.  When specifically do you think Palin imploded...the Curic interview?  or when
the font of all media knowledge the "Daily Kos" had stories about Trig being her daughters baby, dozens of media stories, incorrectly I might add, showing how she was involved in book banning at the library in town, years before they were even written, the money spent on nails and hair dressers, ...about the only information not published on this woman was when she was having her period....and I'm sure that piece of Palin insightful journalism will be flowing soon.  And while I can't give any links, it seems to me that the most vicious attacks on Palin came and continue to come from other women...envy, jealousy..I dunno....Damn, women are so much more brutal with words attacking another women than any man could  ever be....Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like it at times,  personally...  [;)]

I'll keep an eye out for equal slurs to be cast bluepanda. (Son of a real honest to god Tennessee Hillbilly who got an EE degree and spent 20+ years in the Airforce)

Owner59 -> RE: Palins excuses begin (1/9/2009 8:43:05 AM)

The few who used that word as a pejorative don`t make up "the left",Archer.

IMO hillbilly is not a put-down.The union movement was started by these good folks as well as many many rich and varied cultural and artistic contributions.

I don`t recall an elected official or media person calling her a hillbilly.

Is there any response to the unflattering comments from the McCainers towards Palin?

Hippiekinkster -> RE: Palins excuses begin (1/9/2009 8:44:38 AM)

Whoever thinks Palin is hot really needs to get paroled and get some pussy.

Tell ya what, bro. I'm on my way out of town for a few days to do some winter hiking up north. You want to see some fireworks, start a thread on Al Sharpton anytime after, say, Tuesday. And better yet, if you want to see me banned, throw in Jesse Jackson and John Edwards for good measure. I'm an equal opportunity scorner. I despise weak, divisive political leaders who use their ability to express and inspire anger as a way of compensating for their inability to express and inspire hope. I hate 'em wherever I find 'em, not matter what side of the aisle they live on, and i'll cheerfully rip 'em apart whenever one of them pops their slimy head out from under their rock.

And my apologies for disparaging your father by putting him in the same company as Sarah Palin. He sounds like the kind of man who deserves much better than to be insulted by such a comparison.

Archer -> RE: Palins excuses begin (1/9/2009 9:05:31 AM)

My comment was as much to the fact that the pejorative use of the word was left unchallanged, and in fact lauded as humorous.

Socialist and redistribution of wealth names fail to compare because they are descriptions of actual political schools of thought.
You might debate the accuracy of the application of the term (as one could with hillbilly being applied to someone not from Appalachia at all but rather from an entirely different region) which I left alone originally.

I  think the polls prior to the Palin nomination showed that McCain campaign was really lacking in strong core support that rallied to him big time AFTER Sarah was nominated.  You may recall she brought down the house during the convention and had crowds so lacking for McCain everywhere she went on the campaign trail. Palin scared the hell out of the liberal media and they had to destroy her...she is conservative, pro life, and damn attractive, and adored by the republican core...

It seems we have a very selective, short-term memory being employed here.

She was nominated to fire up the Republican base, as you said.  McCain was within a few points of Obama before her nomination and pulled ahead in many polls after.

Then his campaign staff realized what an idiot old Johnny "shoot from the hip" nominated.  He based his decision on what she could do for his poll numbers without ever really getting to know her (I believe it was stated he only met her once in person beforehand).

So then his campaign did everything they could to muzzle her.  That worked for a short while, and his poll numbers stayed up.  Then came the Couric and Gibson interviews where she made a total fool of herself.  Take note of that last part.  She did it to herself.  She was either totally clueless or totally unprepared for basic questions that she should have expected.

What is the most hilarious is how McCain seems to realize what most of the Palin groupies here fail to grasp.  She cost him any real chance at the Presidency.  Has anyone noticed his pointed lack of support for her since the election?  When he was asked whether he would support a Palin presidential bid in 2012 he side-stepped the question by saying he felt there were many qualified candidates available.

Or how about the many McCain campaign staffers who confided to the press about her numerous intellectual, personality, and character shortcomings in the waning days of the election and since?  Are these more lies made up by a liberal media intent on destroying this bumbling bimbo who seems to have achieved conservative sainthood status?

It's only the beginning.  When Obama's policies aren't working, watch how quickly the topic will turn to Bush's tenure.

Heehee!  You're funny!

What's funny is the speed with which Congressional Democrats are lining up to oppose Dear Leader's economic recovery bill.

Dear Leader is not even sworn in and his own party is already beginning to abandon him. He was and is nothing more than a foil for Congressional Democrats to weaken the Executive Branch. Queen Nancy wants a figurehead in the White House, and Dear Leader is just the sort of spineless simp to oblige.

[sm=biggrin.gif]

You talk as if you seriously believe Bush ran the country.

We've already been been hearing the things from White House insiders about Cheney being the puppeteer, even before Bush leaves office.

Wait until he is actually out and the floodgates open when people are no longer dependent on him for a job.

scarlettjinx -> RE: Palins excuses begin (1/9/2009 3:53:09 PM)

well it doesn't matter.

obama will be the president of his 57 states, for at least (and god willing ONLY) the next four years. The mostly uneducated masses have won this time. As for Palin, I would much rather be led by a god fearing, intelligent if not worldly, backwoods hockey mom, than that man.

Well, I think us poor, uneducated folks who are godless and not too bright will have to suffer our own choices.

Clearly you can't distinguish chest-thumping and sabre-rattling from "abandonment".  Obama's stimulus bill will pass.  First in a string of successes from a President with a well-functioning brain, and no VP pulling his strings.

Of course, on Planet CL, everything Obama does is wrong, everything every Democrat does is wrong, etc., etc.....zzzzzzzz....

*[sm=book.gif]Looks at my bible*  1 John 4:8 "God is love...."  *searches through the rest, turns it upside down, uses an infrared light....exhausted*  still can't seem to find "God is fear..."  maybe i'm doing something wrong.[sm=dunno.gif]

As far as "uneducated masses":

McCain leads Obama among those with a high school education or less

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama leads John McCain by a significant margin among voters with the most education, but trails the likely Republican nominee among voters with the least formal education.

And this poll was pretty much consistent with the actual voting results. Trust me, i don't subscribe to the whole "college grads are superior to those that didn't attend/finish college" rubbish.  Some of the brightest people i've known had very little in the way of formal education, but when you mentioned the "uneducated masses", i wanted to give you some food for thought, and this is not belittle you for having  your opinion, in any way.  Just to inform you a bit on the actual facts.

thornhappy -> RE: Palins excuses begin (1/9/2009 5:32:09 PM)

a fast reply about press coverage of McCain/Palin:

Whoever's (or is that whomever?) is doing better in the polls gets the better press.  Early on when (believe it or not) Obama was running behind Clinton (and later behind McCain), he got the unfavorable press.  When Obama's numbers came up, his coverage was more favorable.

Less due to a liberal media consispiracy than simple incompetence.

Then, you must be truly disappointed. What has God got to do with a failed election? Do you think he's in any way responsible for it, and if so... what do you think he possibly could have been trying to say [8D] ?
