My nick was givin to me by a brother.
He was an OTR truckdriver  and gave me "Popeye" because I was in the Navy and Coast Guard.
He didn't talk on the C.B. radio much so they called him, "Lockjaw."

...what's the story behind your nick?
Short and descriptive. If they understand what it means, fine, if they don't, that's fine too.

CM is the only place that I use this particular nic.  It came about because I was living in Georgia and dating someone when I started the account.  It doesn't particularly "fit" me these days - but hell, I'm to tired to change it, and I've got to many posts on the forums here under this name.

I generally use one of 2 other nics - either Okie Rhio (pretty self explanitory, I think, since I'm an Okie by birth and where I live) or another one that I'm not going to mention since it's also my primary email off this site and I don't care to have the various flakes get ahold of that information.  The nic I won't post here is the one that's actually fairly Accurate in a personaity descriptive way, and it does have a Story behind it from my past nearly 20 years ago.

There seemed to be an awful lot of fellas having serious sounding nicknames like SirDarkLordStrictDom, and since that seems seriously goofy I decided to be goofy on the lighthearted side of the spectrum.

What is an Okie?

Okie is actually a slang term - originally derogatory - coined during the Dust Bowl of the 30s, used to refer to those who are/were from Oklahoma, in the central US.  While the term Was originally meant as an insult, there are those of us these days who take it as a compliment, for various reasons.  Instead of insulting, I grew up in a family who Stayed during the Dust Bowl era, and they taught me to see being an "Okie" (ie Oklahoman) as a sign of Strength and Perseverance.  Either way, it's something that those who are from the US recognize as meaning "someone from Oklahoma" - and since I don't talk to those from outside the US very frequently, it's never crossesd my mind that it wasn't easily recognizable as a place type name.

Someone who comes from Oklahoma, in the US.  Bonus points if they're from Muskogee, OK.

Oops, you beat me to it, peach :)

Heh - it's only Bonus Points if they're also a Country Singer!  (Although we've got a Great castle there now, where there's a yearly RenFaire.)

When I saw Muskogee, I thought immediately of Muskoka County in Ontario but I don't anyone would know where that is unless they live or have lived in Ontario.

When I first joined these boards, I was turned on to them by a VERY dear friend of mine.  His name is Mark, and He always wanted me to be with Him, but I would never do it.  I didn't want to meet anyone that I started talking to online.  I was only 16 at the time we started talking, and He was much older than me.  But We flirted like crazy, (Shocking, I know.) and all that, and So, I became His fantasy girl.  I wouldn't get with Him, but He wanted me.

This past summer, I did finally meet up with Him.  And let's just say, that I will ALWAYS be in His fantasies!!

Now, I also Have a Nickname from my nickname.  When I first started posting on here, A few of the people that I talked to frequently came up with the name of Fannie.  The sad part is, that it took me FOREVER to figure out that it came from Fantasy.  They just didn't want to have to type out my whole name! lol  That is the name I choose to go by on here.  I don't usually give out my real name.  I get too weird about stalkers and such. lol

I wonder how many think I have an extreme nick?
Some do expect some sort of murderous nutter, but perhaps that filters out those lacking in imaginationand sense of humour.
It actually pertains to:
Being happily eccentric
A guitarist
Er...male.
