Its voluntarily inactive...not lost....huge difference. something to do with new regulations regarding keeping up qualifications and his schedule being ...well presidential, I would say its liable to be inactive for a while. Lucy

IMO, we now have someone who really is intelligent and thoughtful and willing to listen to someone besides yes-men backing him up on wrong and immoral and sometimes even criminal decisions. We have someone won't reject out of hand a good idea simply because it's not another Democrat coming up with it. I believe we have someone who won't continue trashing our civil and human rights but who will respect them. To me, just that foundation is reassuring and a relief. No, he's not a savior. But he's such a wonderful change from what we've had to suffer with these last loooooooong eight years..................luci Beautifully put luci thank you!

Oh hiz,...you know I was funnin' ya'....but, amazingly you are correct. The bashing of Clinton is yet to stop from one side so I expect the bashing of Bush will continue as well. In My heart of hearts I hope as a country we move forward and truly do not spend the next 4 or 8 years bashing one another politically, it is how we ended up in the mess we are in at present. If you follow the opinion polls the biggest change the public wants is a more bi-partisan approach to government so that it functions as it is supposed to...For The People.... In this thread the misrepresentation of facts seems to be pretty limitless but, not from Owner or myself on the left, if you will, but those that see things from the otherside and obviously seek to provoke. We all know BS when we read it ands ome just cannot help but point it out. I have refrained![sm=beatdeadhorse.gif] edited...I really needed only one dead horse to beat!

You know I think its a shame that today gets tainted by it all. I am not a bush fan but at the same time I kinda think its better to move on rather than dwell, as KS said learn from the mistakes and see Obama as a fresh start.

Was anyone else watching MSNBC? They ridiculed Bush and Cheney... but failed to mention that congress's approval ratings were equal to both the president and vp. Would that have anything to do with Congress being full of Dems?

Rumsfeld is not a war veteran. He was a Naval aviator on active duty from 1954-1957. He served in the reserves until the 70's, but he never saw combat. Of course that isn't an indictment of his character. He served, and he served honorably. George W. Bush's service in the National Guard was just as honorable, and it's a fabrication that he didn't live up to his obligations. Oh and Colin Powell was a member of Bush's "inner circle" and he did have some combat time. He's just conveniently latched on to the new POTUS. If you read about his career, he has a habit of doing that. Yes, Cheney took student deferrments, but he never wrote letters disparaging the military like Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton is the person ultimately responsible for 9/11 and the Iraq war. It was his adminstration that failed to apprehend or kill Bin Laden during the 90's (despite numerous chances.) It was his administration that provided the bulk of intelligence supporting Saddam Hussein's WMD programs and ambitions.
