my rough math shows 125 million paid in some part by various financial type industries, securities, insurance, real estate, etc.

there's some proof. add it up.

No kidding?

Do you mean to say that certain businesses actually contribute to political campaigns that they believe will benefit them?

Well, stop the presses and let's roll out a special edition to alert the people.

lol...last line was pretty funny. I don't care one way or the other, the both got money from the same source. anyhow, have fun doing some hero worship or whatever.

I don't worship him as a hero.

In fact, if he doesn't live up to his promises I'll be the first on here criticizing him.

I just don't understand the labeling of him as a failure before he has had a chance to do anything.

You should also add in contributions from legal firms, and employees of legal firms (individual contributors!) that work for the financial industry. And don't get me started on Big Pharma. Or the telecom industry. (Can you say FISA?)

Dance with me!

I thought you'd never ask :-) .

Isn't Michelle Obama's white gown stunning!
She looks marvelous.
They look so damn good dancing.

What a joy it is to watch them.

Finally, some gorgeous looking people to look up to at the head of our government. It makes such a change from the stuffed mummies we've had to put up with for the past eight years - and don't get me started on Joe Biden's swagger. The man is a Daddy Dom dream come true [8D] .

lol, I think Jill Biden, the cute intelligent blonde with the big mouth
is adorable also.
They are all refreshing, like a breath of fresh air.

Obama's record-breaking $600 million campaign was paid for, in large part, by the financial industry.

Thanks for the link. The Sector Totals chart on the page says $37,482,833 for "Finance, Insurance & Real Estate."

Yeah, see, using RW fuzzy math, 6% translates as "in large part".  Because if they believe it hard enough and email each other...

it's true!

but, but I liked the gold dress and matching jacket !
Am I the only one {besides Michelle} that thought it was a great dress?

It was nice and warm, and royal looking.

I thought she looked fantastic Greedy.    Went very well with her skin color, lively looking all day.   It's not a color everyone can carry, or anyone who weighs more than 200#, but she looked stunning in it.   Needless to say YMMV. [:D]

Tonight's gown is gorgeous and she looks like a princess in it, but a tad puffy on bottom with I'm not too keen on myself.    M

GreedyTop -> RE: Any one else Obamarized today with the Inauguration coverage? (1/20/2009 7:58:21 PM)

I thought it was rather .. matronly, I guess.  a nice dress, but I didnt think it suited her all that well.

eta: the color was great!! it's the style that didnt grab me.
of course, as has been pointed out elsewhere, it's gotta be tough to make anything look fab when you're wearing body armor underneath

I will never look at Joe Biden the same.
Since we are being naughty, I have never thought of Michelle as "submissive".
I saw one interview I thought she was going to beat Barack on camera.
Please, don't get me started.
[:D]
back home at the White House tonight...... " So you think you are Mr. BigShot now?....let me show you!"
